Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that.

So here's this weeks question: It's New Years Eve. What are your plans tonight?
We were going to be in Rio Vista having dinner with a bunch of boating friends, but the weather made us change our plans. Cold is one thing, but boating when there is a small craft advisory is not smart at all. We did that once and we'll never repeat that mistake. Being on the delta loop is not a good idea in high winds as the power goes out often. So we'll celebrate the New Year by staying home.

  1. Being the party animal that I am, I'll be lounging on the couch in my pajamas and falling asleep long before the ball drops. :)

  3. Princess Gail is on the tail end of a bad cold, so we are laying low tonight. We saw the first two Hobbit movies over the past few days, and then went to see the new Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies last night. Spectacular! - So now we are thinking of watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy again. Might start tonight.
Also, I like to watch end of year reviews on TV.

Happy New Year, Sandee! Hugs to you and Zane!

  6. I am sorry your plans got foiled. That is disappointing. But safety first is never a bad motto. We have no plans, maybe an early dinner at my Dad's house. We are just coming off the dreaded awful flu, so rest is not a bad idea.

    1. Not a problem Lisa. Boating doesn't always turn out like you planned. The weather does what the weather does. :)

We will party with our neighbors and fellow Sunday School classmates. There should be between 65 and 85 there. We will go home with the old folk (probably) after the ball drops in NYC. Then Mrs. Jim and I will come home and have wine and cheese and ... and wait for Texas New Year to come.
Sorry :( your plans got changed but you should be warm and safe this way. g-)

  21. I find it interesting that most of us plan to spend it at home! We're going to dinner and maybe a 7:00 movie, then coming home and probably going to bed early. I think the older you get, the less of a need you feel to watch the year change.

  22. Partying it up with my book club and our husbands. We always play games of some sort. Last year the hosts made up a bunch of questions and we played the newlywed game. I don't know what they planned for tonight, but I'm sure it will be fun.
Have a lovely evening and Happy New Year!

  28. What I really miss is watching the ball drop. Now that we are in New Zealand, it is 18 hours into the new year when I get to see it. As for us, we still enjoyed. We had a few good friends over for dinner, with the best ever dessert made by my teen, then a movie with lots of laughs, which ended about 11.55. Then we toasted in the New Year with champagne, followed immediately by silly faces as most of us don't like the bubbles.

  29. I've just found your blog via Babs of BeetleBlog. Looks interesting .. !

My plans for New Year's Eve were to watch an old episode of House, eat a waffle and cheese and broccoli sandwich, drink an inordinate amount of tea and complain a lot about the Flu Bug That Never Goes Away. I think I've had it since November. Oh, and the fireworks woke me up at midnight, and I briefly wished I had the energy to go to the window to see them because it sounded like three displays all going off at once, but I didn't. Sleep was more important.

I'm not usually such a miserable old besom. Just when I've had a bug for so long. Usually I laugh more!

  32. I'm a bit late for this question but I'm having trouble remembering. I think I was on the computer setting up my Siteground Out The Bush comicpress site & transferring the content from Wordpress.com
Decided that having several comic themes on one site combined it too frustrating. I was reading a few articles about making webcomics & one big tip that kept being emphasised was Don't Over Commit. They said to decide on just ONE comic theme & focus on that rather than a whole horde of different material. I have New Year's Resoluted to stick to Out The Bush. Dunno which site you have in your RSS Reader Sandee but the outthebush.wordpress.com no longer exists. It's on the regular outthebush.com site
