Wisdom

A High School Teacher’s List of Wisest Words:

There are plenty of ways to enter a pool. The stairs is not one of them.

Never cancel dinner plans by text message.

Don’t knock it ‘til you try it.

If a street performer makes you stop walking, you owe him a buck.

Always use ‘we’ when referring to your home team or your government.

When entrusted with a secret, keep it.

Don’t underestimate free throws in a game of ‘horse’.

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

Don’t dumb it down.

You only get one chance to notice a new haircut.

If you’re staying more than one night, unpack.

Never park in front of a bar.

Expect the seat in front of you to recline. Prepare accordingly.

Keep a picture of your first fish, first car, and first boy/girlfriend.

Hold your heroes to a high standard.

A suntan is earned, not bought.

Never lie to your doctor.

All guns are loaded.

Don’t mention sunburns. Believe me, they know.

The best way to show thanks is to wear it. Even if it’s only once.

    1. That's the way I'd enter the pool too. I might hurt myself any other way. :)

  2. A text to cancel dinner would be a little annoying. I agree on the chair thing, lol. It doesn't bother me when someone reclines on a plane, but there's always someone not happy with it, like it was a big surprise. ;) Have a great Tuesday!

    1. I've seen some rude people on airplanes. Like they are the only ones that paid for a ticket so it's all about them. Bless their hearts. :)

  12. That last one reminds me of the story of the child who gifted her mother with a new hat for Easter that she had made herself. The family knew mom had bought a new Easter hat, just like every year, but mama put on the garish thing the child had made, wore it to the steps of the church, then changed into the one she had bought. The child was forever grateful.
