Wisdom #4

A High School Teacher’s List of Wisest Words:

Forgive yourself for your mistakes.

Know at least one good joke.

Don’t boo. Even the ref is somebody’s son.

Know how to cook one good meal.

Learn to drive a stick shift.

Be cool to younger kids. Reputations are built over a lifetime.

It’s okay to go to the movies by yourself.

Dance with your mother/father.

Don’t lose your cool. Especially at work.

Always thank the host.

If you don’t understand, ask before it’s too late.

Know the size of your boy/girlfriend’s clothes.

There is nothing wrong with a plain t-shirt.

Be a good listener. Don’t just wait for your turn to talk.

Keep your word.

In college, always sit in the front. You’ll stand out immediately.

Carry your mother’s bags. She carried you for nine months.

Be patient with airport security. They’re just doing their jobs.

Don’t be the talker in a movie.

The opposite sex likes people who shower.

  5. That last one needs to be tattoo'ed (temporarily) on the foreheads of 12-year-old boys. Then again, they want to repel the females still, so it would probably backfire! LOL

  7. Totally correct because I was a teacher. One other thing to add to that and that is respect your students and they will respect you.
I'm very happy that you enjoyed your card that it made your birthday a little better. I thought you'd enjoy the bumblebee. Have a great Tuesday Sandee. See ya.

  8. Having flown only once since the big security was implemented, I disagree with being nice to security. I was a first-time through that stuff and it's hard to be nice when you're getting yelled at by a moron.

  12. I like these, though I have been guilty of ignoring some of them. Sometimes the Ref is a giant jerk...still it is just a game.

I sat in the front row once in college. You might place an addendum to that one that you should probably not snore.

  17. Awesome tips, as usual. I worked at a movie theater when I was a teenager, so I got used to going to the movies alone at a young age. If you can do that as a teen, you can do it as an adult! It's actually one of the easiest things to do because you're being entertained the whole time. It's much harder to eat in a sit-down restaurant by yourself. There's nothing to look at while you eat!
