Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that.

So here's this weeks question: What do you think about social media, like Twitter and Facebook?
I'm rarely on Twitter, but I do go to Facebook everyday. Do I like it? No. It seems pretty juvenile to me for the most part, but I have found some long lost friends. I've also done some yacht club business.

  1. I have accounts on both but hate them both. I haven't been to twitter in forever and probably never will be again. Facebook I do visit from time to time because I keep up with a few relatives that way. Normally if I post on there no one even sees it

    1. I'm rarely on Twitter either. I know it's popular, but I don't get it one bit. :)

  2. I have a twitter for business but honestly, I never use it. I do love Facebook though. Yes, indeedy. It's a great way to keep up with my family and friends. Picture sharing is my favorite, especially of my sister's grandchildren which I only get to see once a year.

Have a lovely day, Sandee! Gracie sends purrs and smoochies. big hugs xoxo

    1. Yes, you do keep up with your family on Facebook. I've noticed that. Thanks for all the purrs and smoochies Gracie. :)

  3. I rarely check twitter too. I check facebook everyday-thankful that I learned to filter my newsfeed so I get to choose to see updates only from people that matters to me.

    1. I've gotten rid of all the ads on Facebook too. That really helped. :)

  4. I have Twitter and Facebook accounts. I hardly ever use Twitter. It took me years to learn to write decent, descriptive text and to say what I want to say in so few characters, now, bugs me. I do check Facebook morning and night because I can keep up with what the young people in the family are doing and the photos they post. Sometimes I post flash-back photos of their ancestors which they all seem to appreciate, too.

  5. I use Twitter mostly for networking with other writers. Facebook is for keeping in touch with friends and family. I do check both sites WAY too often!

  6. I use facebook daily to keep up with friends and family. I don't have a twitter account and don't really see the need. I do have Instagram but use it only as a second means of keeping up with family and friends.

  7. I use twitter any time I see a contest I want to win that says post this on twitter for an entry. I use Facebook not every day but almost. Right now my older sister and dad are in South Africa and she has been posting pictures :D. Hi Sandee I am still around :D

    1. Well I've seen those contests too and they are so much work I don't do them. I'm glad you're still around April. :)

  8. I do Facebook a couple times of day to keep up with my friends that don't blog. It is fun. I don't do twitter at all. I am not clever enough to think of those short little messages. I have met all kinds of people that took riding lessons from me between 30 and 40 years ago and it is great fun seeing all their children with their ponies etc.

  10. I am not such a fan of social media. I think people share way to much but for business purposes I have seen a huge increase in likes and hits so I keep them.

  11. Facebook is a great way to keep up with friends and family ... but as far as using it to help my blog along, it stinks! There, I said it. :) Twitter works better for promoting ... and Google Plus is far better than the two of them combined.

    1. I don't do Goggle Plus at all. :)

  12. I don't have any of them. I'm just not into them. I use to have Facebook but got out of it The only thing I have is Skype which I like. It allows me to see the person I'm speaking with especially if they are far away.
Have a wonderful Wednesday Sandee. See ya.

  13. They have their good points and bad points, much like anything really. FB is good for keeping up with family members who live far away, but I don't like how it's a forum for whining and complaining :)

  14. I use both Facebook and Twitter. I like Facebook for keeping up with friends and family and sharing with others and use Twitter to get news and sometimes share a blog post. I honestly don't know though why I have any Twitter followers. I like it for following conversations about football games or TV shows. Sometimes I'll tweet what I think about a game or something that happens.

    1. Social media is a big deal and many of us would rather not have it, but we still do. :)

  15. I could never get beyond the name "Twitter." It rubs me the wrong way, so I never joined. FB is a love/hate thing. Love being able to keep up with family/friends, but hate all the advertising, BS, etc., that goes on. I ignore all the krappola on it and keep on keeping on.

Purrs from the furbabies, and big hugs from me, honey...

  18. It's all good exposure for the amount of time I spend. I also use a traffic exchange that gives me credits for completing tasks (like Tweeting) so Twitter is handy for that. I am getting back to using Facebook for business and have a separate account for family and friends.

  19. I like social media for the blog. I don't like it for personal communication. That being said, I do like when my grown boys post pics, or their better halves do, so I can snag them. :)

  21. I like the ability to keep in touch with people through FB. Recently started with instagram. For my art, it comes in handy. As for twitter, i started when it first started, never used it, so i deleted my account. Pinterest is another good media platform. I can collect ideas and stuff online.

  22. I use Facebook, but not in a social sense exchanging what I am doing rather my blog shares any new post to FB to my followers. Otherwise I dont spend much time there. Twitter I use to send out Tweets from my blog and Tweet other blog posts of interest, I do follow occasional conversations but I rarely go there to hangout for any amount of time.

    Have a fabulous day!!!

  23. I only use Facebook to link posts as with Twitter but I do use Twitter to see what's trending or what's being said about a TV programme I am watching.

But I don't use it to tell people my every movement ant thoughts, anyway I am just going for a shower...Oops! :-h

  24. I have accounts in both Twitter and Facebook, but rarely use them. I'm more of a blogger where I can keep my anonymity. I'm not really a twisted polyhedron, but I like to keep private my identity, that of my children, where I'm going for dinner and what I'm eating, etc..

I like the idea of gettting my point of view out there, but not necessarily my identity.
    It's just a privacy issue.

  29. I don't do Twitter very often and do Facebook too often. Of course it's not under my own name since I'm not interested in finding people from my past that I don't already keep in touch with. Actually, the cats blog and I use private messages with people when we're not talking about our cats. :)

We're getting cooler temps and rain up here so hope the weather is improving down there too. Happy Wednesday Sandee! Smooches to Little Bit!

  32. Oh boy, Well, Sandee, I have mixed emotions about them. It seems to me that they're a bit shallow, but I do have a Facebook and Twitter account. I never use Twitter though, mainly because I cannot remember my Twitter name, or password, I'm not sure which...-- laughing-, But then, I cannot remember where my glasses are most of the time either. I do think that Facebook is nice for families that live long distances, although it makes me sad that people do not writer letters or even e-mails anymore, but then I do, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. However, friends and family can share pictures of their children and lives. You can probably tell I'm conflicted, huh? In any event, I guess you have to take the good with the bad sometimes. I think-??

I post music on Facebook all the time, but it rolls by so fast I never see what I post...Laughing...

It will be interesting to see where social networks lead our society. I'm a little frightened of that-

    Great great question!

Have a great evening my friend.

And tons of love to ya-
