Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that.

So here's this weeks question: For those that celebrated Independence Day what did you do? For those that live in other countries what was the last holiday you celebrated and how did you celebrate?
We went to our boat on Wednesday and spent the weekend (If you don't go early parking becomes a big issue). On Friday our granddaughter, her honey Andrew and our great granddaughter (Miss Audi Lynn) came and spent the weekend with us. Andrew took our little boat out several times over the weekend to various locations on the Delta. Each evening we had a BBQ and Andrew was in charge of the grill. He did an outstanding job. We had a most pleasant weekend. Happy Birthday America!

  1. We really didn't do anything out of the ordinary. We did a lot of sitting around doing nothing. We did watch fireworks from our back yard Friday night though

    1. That's what we are going to do next year. Staying home. Too much going on and too many people. :)

  2. We were in the car most of the 4th, heading to my dad's big July 5th party. It was a gorgeous day, though, so we stopped a few times at different parks and things along the way.

  4. I worked on the 4th, and made a point of thanking the several vets that were currently in the hospital for their service.
    But I did get out on time for a Winston-Salem Dash baseball game with Gail and Eric, which was followed by very good fireworks right there at the stadium. It was a beautiful evening and night!

  6. We didn't do much on Canada Day and because we live across the Detroit River we can see the U.S. right across the river and we can also see and hear the many fireworks the 4th, 5th and even 6th. See ya.

  13. Your weekend was much more fun. Ours was a quiet day at home with our girls plus one boyfriend. My husband BBQ'ed a brisket. We did hear fireworks, but couldn't see a thing thanks to heavy cloud cover. Still, it was a good day.

  14. Glad you had a good holiday, Sandee. :) Our tradition is to STAY HOME!!

    We mainly did three things, all without leaving our subdivision:
    1. Watched the "Golf Cart Parade" with carts, old cars and newer convertibles, dogs, and veterans (I didn't march but rather sat in a lawn chair beside Mrs. Jim and some neighbors;
    2. Went to different neighbors for lunch--BBQ, beans, salads, and desserts; and
    3. Drove the golf cart up to the green on # 18 of the Weiskopf course here (one of three) and watched subdivision community fireworks. They lasted thirty minutes.

  22. Last public holiday in New Zealand was the Queen's Birthday and we went shopping as it's a great sale weekend. (NZ celebrates the Queen's B-day in June as her real birthday is too close to another public holiday, and there are no other holidays in June. Australia celebrates it about a week off from us for the same reason).

  23. Shopping, BBQs, whatever we do it's fun. :)
