Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that. I'll even answer my own question as that's only fair.

So here's this weeks question: What kind of literature do you enjoy the most? Who is your favorite writer?
Crime fiction, mysteries and thrillers. I love, love, love Lee Child who wrote the Jack Reacher novels. He has a new book coming out in September (Personal). I can't wait.

    2. I'm reading her latest book right now. Twenty one is a hoot thus far. Gosh what a family Stephanie Plum has. Funny books. :)

  2. Mystery is my favorite but I'll read anything that can hold my interest. For years I was a Stephen King fan so I suppose you would have to include macabre in with type of literature although I'm not as fond of it as I used to be. Dean Koontz is another author that I've read quite often

  3. I like all kinds and what I read is totally dependant upon my mood; romantic comedy, adventure, sci-fi, Christian prophecy... and I have read 4 Reacher books so far and have enjoyed all of them. So many books, so little time. But never, ever horror. Or vampire. Ack.

    big hugs xoxo

  9. There is only one type of literature that interests me and that is the macabre. Stephen King is my best writer, I have every one of his books, especially " The Dome " that is now a TV show. Dean Koontz is OK in a lurch but King is the best.
Have a great Wednesday Sandee my friend. See ya.

  10. I like mysteries/suspense; could not put down the Girl with the Green Dragon Tattoo books, Jo Nesbo's books are great, Robert Parker was a great writer with his Spenser series. I too adore the Reacher books! And CJ Box with his game warden series! Right now I am reading Ask Bob by Peter Gethers. The Summary: Doling out advice in his Ask Dr. Bob column, Dr. Robert Heller, one of New York City's leading veterinarians who understands animals a lot better than people, believes that he has finally figured out what it takes to thrive in the human world until tragedy strikes. It is written with a great sense of humor and love of animals. Great read- hard to put down. Happy reading

  13. What do you mean by literature?

    That's not a fair question.

I will read just about anything.
It seems a fairer question is, what kind of literature don't I like.
Junk mail, particularly of the political ilk, is probably my least favorite of reading materials, followed by science fiction

I agree about the political ilk. It gets tossed right away. :)

  15. I am open to just about any type of reading from Debbie Macomber's books to the Jack Reacher series. Not too big a fan of Stephen King any more since "It" scared the beejeezes out of me!

Saw your comment on your blog and I thought somehow someway I'd get sick on the cruise whether it was from motion sickness to whatever but luckily I didn't. Of course I popped meclizine like candy especially when we got into swells! I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise to Alaska but probably would never do a cruise across open water where I couldn't see land. Nope, not for me!

Enjoy your Wednesday! Scritches to Little Bit!

  16. Oh Sandee, My favorite type of literature is prose/fiction, because it has taught me so much. I love getting lost in stories that reflect our lives through the use of well written prose, metaphor, dialogue, and above all else, character. And I believe you and I share a love for mysteries.I have so many favorite writers, but to pin a few modern ones down, I would have to say; Sue Grafton, Elizabeth Berg, James L Burke, oh, I could go on and on....

This is a fabulous question! I love it- And thank you for turning me on to a new writer! I've been digging through my book shelves lately.:)))

  17. There's no one genre or author that i like best. There's too much great stuff written in every area and by so many people. The one book i read consistently every day, of course, is the Bible, but i love reading voraciously in almost every category.

  21. I am fascinated by the book that I spend far too little time reading, the Bible. While all of it is inspired by God, I find Paul to be the most interesting scribe. He wrote over half of the New Testament.

  23. My reading habits are so eclectic that I can't pick just one genre or one author. The last book that shot right up to my Top 10 list was David Foster Wallace's "Infinite Jest." It's been years since I read it, but it still sticks with me.
