Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that. I'll even answer my own question as that's only fair.

So here's this weeks question: Are you a patient person, or does waiting drive your blood pressure through the roof?
When I was young I was pretty impatient. As I aged I figured out how to wait more smartly. I bring a good book and just let it go. Time passes quickly when you're reading a good book. Now driving in the car is a bit more troublesome, but I've learned to relax far better there as well.

    1. I worked with a guy like that. He'd send a voice mail and go on and on and on and say nothing. Then when you're asleep he's put in what was critical. Missed it most of the time. Windbag. :)

  5. I have learned to bring along a book any time I go where I may have to wait, including the bus ride to and from work. I am still learning to be patient--God has given me one kid in my Sunday School class who really knows how to push my buttons so every week I get a lesson on being patient. I think I finally came up with an effective way to deal with this kid to alleviate my blood pressure from rising.

  6. I hate to wait but I can do it with a good book, like at the doctors. it all depends on how long I have to wait and if I am not prepared to wait. It is my least favorite thing to do.
So, Sandee, Zane and Little Bit, you all have a great day. Little Bit, you look after that Mom and Dad of yours. Take care.

  7. It depends on whether it is socially acceptable to read a book. I'm cool if it is but if not, I start hopping from foot to foot like a five year old that has to pee.

I have the hardest time when neighbors stop me to "chat" as I'm walking my dog. I have one who talks especially slow which always bring out the foot hopper in me.

I hear you about your neighbor. We have one of those too. :)

  8. When I was young I was a very impatient person especially at the doctor's office. Now I'm not that bad. I figure what the hell. I'll eventually it get done because I really don't have any control over the situation. On the road, now that is a little different. Other people really bother me because if they can't learn the rules of the road, get off of it.
Have a great day Sandee. See ya.

  10. So you ask am I a patient person, well I am the most patient person you will ever know, I told my now husband, when he said, "I hope your patient", even when I have to wait, I make the most of it in some way. Even when driving and have to wait, I enjoy watching others or the scenery around me, so yep, Im a patient person. Come stop by and share your WW on my WW this week. http://ohmyheartsiegirl.com/index.php/yesterday-wordless-wednesday-4/

  11. it depends- if it's critical I be somewhere at a certain time- and traffic is awful....I used to be really impatient...now I relax a bit more. If I am waiting for someone who is late...not so patient then. And with some folks who are habitually late I just tell them to meet me 1 hour earlier than I really want to met them. Works for me.

    1. You seem like the nicest person. I guess it's how we handle the impatience. I agree late people make me very nervous. :)

  12. Not patient at all.
And I struggle with it daily in so many aspects. I am a poor trainer because I expect everyone to learn it as fast as I did. I am impatient in daily activities like shopping, driving, etc. and it equates to unnecessary stress. I am impatient with my daughter. I fail to realize she operates on a different frequency and takes longer for real, legit reasons. And rushing her only makes her angry at me and causes... more stress!!!

  14. It depends. I think I'm patient in most instances but I have my moments when I'm not. I get ticked when it involves something that someone else isn't respecting my time.

  18. Extreeeeemely inpatient. But only when it comes to time. When someone is supposed to be somewhere (like my wife for a reservation, the doctor for a reservation or waiting in line at an amusement park) very impatient. When it comes to dealing with others misunderstanding of things, I am very patient. USUALLY

  23. Before I started working from home, I had a 30-minute commute each way every day. Audible.com was my friend. For a while I checked out audiobooks on CD from the library, but I finally broke down and paid for an Audible.com membership. It made the commute much more pleasant, plus I was able to read some really good books I might not have had time to read otherwise.

  25. I'm fairly patient, more so than I used to be, although it depends on the situation. For example, people with control issues drive my blood pressure "through the roof." For example, people who is drive under the speed limit sight seeing, when they know you've got a double line, and cannot pass... and having to stand in line behind someone with a cart full of groceries, when you have a few items, and they know it-

Overall, I would say I'm pretty patient, particularity with children, the elderly, and people with problems who cannot help moving a little slow.

    Great question Sandee!.

    Huge hugs to you-
