Miss Audi

Last Saturday we had the privilege of having Andrew, Sarah and our great grand-baby Audi visit us at Willow Berm Marina for the day. They arrived a bit before noon and the first order of business was getting a life jacket on Audi. Kids 12 and under must wear them at all times on the docks and on the boat. Here's me putting on her girlie life jacket (that grandpa picked out). She was good and wore it all day without complaint. We think it had a lot to do with the fact that it was pink.

We got underway about 30 minutes after their arrival and off we went on a cruise. It didn't take long for Andrew to get to drive the boat. He loved it and then some. In fact Andrew drove the boat the majority of the cruise.

Miss Audi just loved the boat. It didn't scare her one bit. She is the cutest little one on the planet too. A great helper and she even helped me put lunch together.

Audi insisted on driving the boat too. She had a bit of help, but she enjoyed herself to the fullest. The hardest part was keeping her fingers off all the controls. You know how little ones want to play with everything.

We had a lovely cruise and then went back to the marina where Audi spent a great deal of time, and a lot of bread, feeding the fish and the ducks. She really enjoyed herself. She's also in love with any camera.

After we got back Andrew, Sarah and Audi took off in our little run about for about two hours. They had a great time exploring the delta. When they returned we headed out to dinner at Moore's Riverboat. We visited until almost 10 and the kids finally went home. Guess what? They are coming back July 4-5 to enjoy the water and the weekend. We got them a room for two nights as our boat has enough room for cocktails for 6, dinner for 4 and it sleeps 2. Period.

  4. What a great day! Most kids learn pretty quickly to sense when a camera is pointed at them. Sometimes they seem to have eyes in the back of their heads. Great set of photos. I know you're going to enjoy the fourth. Have a blessed day.

When I was five and had to wear a life preserver they made you look like the Michelin Man! I hated wearing that thing!

  20. I especially loved this because Sunday my friend took my daughter and I on a HUGE adventure... to see the Outer Banks wild horses in a way that not many can see... and also to take the boat right up to Monkey Island... which was COVERED with white egrets and other birds. I'll be posting pix in the next week.... There is nothing like getting out in a boat! Your pictures put a big smile on my face.

  21. Lurker here. I so enjoy reading your posts. But I just about choked when I read you feed ducks bread! Ducks don't eat bread naturally, and it can kill them in large amounts. I know you're looking forward to their next visit, and I'm looking forward to reading about it. Can you please please please buy her duck feed instead?
