Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that. I'll even answer my own question as that's only fair.

So here's this weeks question: Do you volunteer your time for a good cause?
Hubby and I both volunteer our time and we do so much that often we have to plan trips around commitments that need doing. Hubby is the secretary for a gun club with 700 members. He does so much that often it looks like a full time job. I volunteer for yacht club functions that require planning, purchasing of items, then set up and take down. Tons of work so others can have a fun event. I also help hubby with many things in his gun club. December of 2016 we are done. You'll find us in some warm place the month of January 2017.

  1. Maybe you can visit us here then :)

WE do volunteer also.. ministries in the church- I work with our youth and we do have lots of activities. It takes so much energy and time but its worth it. I also volunteer with our scholarship program-from time to time we do fund raising activities for them.

    1. Well that and you work full time. I didn't have much time when I was working. Those 12 hours days were almost too much at times. :)

  3. I do but not nearly as much as I want to. I sometimes let life get in the way, which I shouldn't. This has inspired me :)

  9. My volunteer activities have slowed down recently with work, but I still manage to get some stuff done. I'm a volunteer cat cuddler at a local SPCA, I adopted a park near my home which i clean up 2-3 times a year. I was also the manager of my daughter's hockey team a few years ago. Need more time in a day!

  10. I don't really volunteer that much. When I was younger I volunteered being a coach in baseball and in the winter I was a referee in hockey but all of that went down the toilet after my stroke. Oh well. Have a great day Sandee.

  12. I volunteer admin work at the local domestic violence shelter. They won't let me work with the ladies/children without proper training, so I do my part by donating diapers, toys, winter coats, shoes, sometimes clothes, and things like that, and organizing their charity/donation work in the office.

  21. We volunteer money and time for many good causes. Years ago, my eldest daughter absolutely needed some service hours and she waited until the last minute. All there was was some city clean up and I didn't want my high school aged child going by herself because the group included some unsavory characters who were serving community service for a crime. I ended up going with her. When we broke for lunch, one of the women asked us what we were in for. My daughter told her it was for school and that my mom (me) was just here to keep her company. The woman looked at me and said she may not have turned out so bad in life if she'd had a mom like me. She may not have meant it, but it sure touched my soul anyway and it made my daughter a little more appreciative.
