Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that. I'll even answer my own question as that's only fair.

So here's this weeks question: Have you ever been on TV?  Did you like it or did it make you nervous?
Way more than I wanted to be. I've received awards, and/or given presentations at the County Board of Supervisors meetings and they are always televised. I've been interviewed by Channel 3 News several times. All these were work related.  I'm not a political person, so I didn't much care for being on television, but I did what needed doing.

  2. Yes, I was on tv when I was maybe 5 or 6. One of our local channels used to a Ronald McDonald show and my brother and I and 2 of the neighbor kids went to be on it. It was probably a group of 20-30 kids that sat on bleachers on the side and if you were "lucky" you got called up for one reason or another. My brother was called to tell a joke and I can't remember if I did anything or not. I was scared to death though as I was a VERY shy kid

  3. Yes, when I was a teenager at an Indians game. The four of us and my best friend held up a Peanuts banner that said: "Charlie Brown says: Go Indians!" This was way back when the team was very bad and the crowds were very small. We had a blast and it was fun!

  4. My sister was on an MTV reality show which was filmed at my Dad's house. Photos of my kids and me were in it, but I refused to be a part of the show in person.
My rear end was on TV when I went to a Colt's game. I happened to be right behind the end zone where the winning field goal was kicked. The ball fell behind me, so I bent over to pick it up. My bum made it onto ESPN.

  8. I have been on tv a few times- My boys were very involved with cub scouts, and so was I. We did several early morning tv spots on local news channel about scouting. I have done public speaking also. doesn't make me nervous at all. Kind of gives me a high actually.

  9. Channel 2's weatherman came to the sorghum festival for a live broadcast and the chamber of commerce director was supposed to go on camera for a live talk with Glenn. She chickened out at the last minute and grabbed me and asked me to do it, since she knew Glenn was a friend of ours. I was nervous at first, but I just told my inner nerves that I was only talking to Glenn and it went fine. No, it is not something I would want to do again!

    Big hugs, honey...

  11. He appeared on PBS on a show about Computers and Sports. It was filmed at CSM (College of San Mateo). Not nervous, because if you remember in the back of your head that it's being taped and not live and could be edited, you relax.

  13. I too have been on Channel 3 news many times. When ever there was a catastrophe up here in the mountains they would send someone up to film us, in the utilities, trying to put things back together. I always tried to stay in my bucket in the air so I didn't have to comment, but I wasn't always successful. c-)

  16. I had a cameo appearance when a news crew filmed me and my dad when we were on the beach looking at the tsunami barge that came ashore in Newport. I hated it cause I looked awful! I will steer clear of cameras from now on!

Hope you and Little Bit have a glorious day!

  18. Yep- many times on local TV when I would be testifying before Lake Oswego's City Council. I won't go into the grimy details but the council thought they had the right to confiscate private properties ( with no compensation ) under the guise of "sensitive land designations" so they could mitigate the horrible things they were doing to public lands that truly were "sensitive lands" ie: forests and wetlands.
I was a thorn in their paw until we moved. The sensitive lands designation is now being removed by a more reasonable City Council.

  19. Yes, i was interviewed once for TV news. They were just looking for a random someone to ask about a topic, and i was around. Yes, i was a bit nervous, but i knew they have good editors and wouldn't use it if it was too awful.

  20. Nope. Never been on TV. I have no qualms about talking to a crowd. Had to do that a lot in my professional life. And I do it now with my guild work.

My nieces were on two different TLC shows. One was a nurse featured on Baby's First Day and the other was a consultant on Randy to the Rescue.

  22. Nope, no TV appearances for me. I've had my picture in the paper a few times as a youngster, but no television. Now, at my age, I prefer it that way. :))

  25. I've never knowingly or unknowingly appeared on TV. I'm happy about that because I'd be more than nervous, I'd simply hate it because cameras add 20 pounds.

  26. I went to a taping of one of those daytime court shows when I was 19, never saw the episode though so I have no idea if I appeared in the crowd. I did get like a two second appearance when I went to a taping of the Today show. My Dad saw me.
