Fragments

This is week three of my physical therapy for my left shoulder. I cannot tell you how much better I feel and I'm certain that surgery is not in the cards. What a difference and my range of motion isn't 100%, but it's miles and miles better than before I started.

Saturday night hubby and I had Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen chicken. We rarely have anything fried, but their spicy chicken is to die for. Sometimes you just have to have something that's not that good for you, but tastes ever so good.

Our garage door was dying a slow death so we had a new one installed. State of the art and so very quiet. It cost an arm and a leg, but it was worth it.

Speaking of home repairs, we have to have most of our fence redone. It's falling down in places and it looks terrible. I've stained it every other year for the last 13 years, but it's in need of replacement. Just one section is 121 feet long, with a total of 208 feet of fence to replace. I'm sure the sticker shock will be horrible, but you can't let things go.

Hubby and I are going to go on a cruise for Valentines Day. One of our favorite yacht clubs (Marina West) is going to take care of us all weekend. It will be my first time at the boat since my physical therapy began. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to being on our boat for the weekend, and will also be able to be the first mate. I can physically handle doing that wonderful job again.

Have a fabulous day and week everyone.

Those home repairs can be killer but they're the price you pay for owning a home

  8. Ditto what Barb said. This all makes me smile, well, except for that fence stuff and expensive garage door stuff but stuff wears out and needs fixing or replacing. Glad you are up to finally doing some cruising. Oh happy day!

    Big hugs, honey...

  10. I'm so glad your shoulder is better. Not 100%, but getting there. I like that. Positive!

Speaking of expenses, life is full of them. We're at ~2,000 dollars because our daughter's boyfriend put power fluid into the break line of her truck.

  13. I'm happy for you, Sandee. :) Surgery is the pits. mrs Jim had bunion surgery January 2 and just tomorrow will she be allowed to put weight on her foot. She will wear her walking boot until February 28. That is two months. We are doing PT on her first two toes now. She has three screws, one in second toe which was shortened and two in her big toe which was straightened.

You did great on the blog roll!!

  14. The little woman is dragging me to a Valentine Ball on the 15th. I hate those, but I'll be quiet and keep my smile on. Try instead of the fence posts in the ground make a concrete foundation for each post. In the concrete put an "H" fixture into it. Bolt the post to it, thus keeping the post above ground out of the water. c-)

  25. Seymour thinks the garage door might have been his fault, when he was trying to play 'Tarzan' and accidentally swung into the mechanism a couple times. But he denies the chimpanzee was his idea...
