Today hubby and I are having lunch at Encinal Yacht Club with some friends. We always enjoy our visits there.

Some people you just can't like no matter how hard you try. They appear to be wonderful at first and then their true nature comes out. You just need to distance yourself from those people.

I am proud to say that I've met many, many wonderful people on the Internet. Many I have met in person and many that I would love to meet. Many of you are family and I know that you know who you are. I love you all.

If we are on the boat you'll get :) on the end of my comments. If I'm at home you'll either see ☺ or ♥♥♥. My old laptop doesn't have the numbers keys like my stand alone at home. This way you'll know if I'm home or on the boat. I'm sure that this information is most valuable to you.

I am currently the vice president of International Order of the Blue Gavel (IOBG). This is a club of past commodores and is by invitation only. What it amounts to is doing work so everyone else can have a good time. I've three more years and I'm retiring from volunteer work. Hubby also volunteers and he's even busier than I am. It will be time for hubby and I to travel and do what we want instead of what everyone else needs.

I'm all set for Thanksgiving, except for the cooking. What are you doing this Thanksgiving?

  1. bahahahaha! :) That info is most useful indeed! And you should let everyone else do some of the work so that YOU can have a good time sometimes!

Have a lovely day! big hugs xoxo

  2. If everything works out, hubby and I are cooking dinner, eating, and taking plates to some of our neighbors who we know won't have anything special that day. looking forward to it!

  3. Awe Sandee, you're too cute with those :) and ☺ and ♥♥♥.
You and hubby need to spend as much free time the way you want and feel like. I know from my personal experience looking after others' needs can be overwhelming and after all we need to be happy too.

Hugs and have a lovely weekend.

  4. Thanks for the valuable fragments :) I would love to meet you in person one day, maybe when you start traveling in three years, our ships cross.

  5. Wouldn't it be neat if every single one of us could meet in person one day in a big ole' group?? I hope we can all do that someday. Democrats and Republicans alike :) ha! I'm just teasing. Seriously though, I am so glad we are blogging friends Sandee. For Thanksgiving I am going to my sister's house and we're gonna have a family feast!

  6. i don't know how to make any of those cute thingies but i DO now know how to make a "degree" sign so that's progress. roche' says to tell you he likes boats.

    smiles, bee

  7. We're going out this year. :) <-- that means I'm home because we're not lucky enough to own a boat ;)

Volunteer work DOES keep you busy, but it's rewarding and fun (even if it's hard). Traveling to do what you want sounds great too.

And yep, on the keep your distance advice, I couldn't agree more. :) Have a great weekend!

  8. LOL! Now I have a way of knowing whether you're on land or sea! Excellent information! :D

I have to work this Thanksgiving, so we won't be traveling to see family. Gail's sister is coming down to be with us. Gail's son, Eric, will be here, too. So it will be a small deal. This year we are actually buying the whole meal at our local grocery, keeping it simple.

You have paid your dues with the volunteerism! It's time already for you two to kick back! If your travels ever bring you to NC, you have a place to stay in Winston!

    Have a great Thanksgiving!
Hugs to you and a manly hello to Z! :-)

  9. That is good information. How could you say that it isn't. Now if I can just remember which is which. LOL..
I am going to a friend's house who is very lonely and she has a lot of health problems so doesn't cook much. So who know what we will have. I am cooking my own turkey on Wed. My friend doesn't like turkey.
I am so thankful that I have gotten to know you and Zane Sandee. And Little Bit too. Take care.

  10. Know the code!

Thanksgiving here with about 30 fam/friends. WYWH!!!

Have fun. Y'all always do. Big hugs, honey...

  11. Don't give the NSA a leg up on where you are. Go get a USB keypad (inexpensive) and confuse them.

  12. Ooooh- a secret blogging code! I love it! :) ... which right now means I love it and you made me smile.

Seriously though- I'm so happy and thankful to have made your acquaintance this year, Sandee via the blog! You have such a kind and generous heart and it shows so clearly in all your actions. Your visits and wonderful comments on Blogitudes have done so very much to inspire, encourage and keep me moving forward! Your wonderful posts here on Comedy Plus brighten days and make us all :) So the fact that you do volunteer work doesn't surprise me in the least! By all means though, take some time off soon from that work so you can just enjoy the fun. You so deserve!

I'm glad you're pretty well set for Thanksgiving, Sandee and hope you have an extremely great one! Mine will be a bit different this year in many ways. Hubby is whisking me away for a few days - a getaway for 2 to have fun and leave reality behind - so I'll be celebrating Thanksgiving in a less traditional way. :) I'm happy and pleased that he came up with idea .... but I suspect that it's mainly because he's become desperate - wants to separate me from my computer and taking me out of town for a romantic getaway is almost sure to work. :) (Note that I said almost.)

Have a great and safe holiday everyone - no matter how you choose to celebrate it! And :) a lot ... which means you're on a boat. :) Learned that today from Sandee. :)

  13. Have a great time in Encinal Yacht club!

  14. We all love ya Sandee because you truly are who you say you are! And you know that you, your sweetie and LIttle Bit are always welcome to come visit! Optimist E is right about all of us being in one room together- what a hoot that would be!
Two nights ago we had an early Thanksgiving dinner- the first turkey I have cooked in our new home- and we had a bachelor friend over to help us eat it up- Thanksgiving will find us with our good friends and neighbors with a lot of their family - all I have to do is make two pumpkin pies....getting off easy!
Volunteering can be more than we want so I am careful not to do too much because then it becomes work of those 4 letter words!
    Cheers honey!
ps Lucy says have a purrfect day!

  15. :X Sounds good to have a volunteer retirement program, Sandy. d-)

Mrs. Jim is working on hers. She did shed two of her most time consuming and worrisome volunteer jobs on July 1. She picked up a couple more for them but at least they don't consume her.

  16. you are a gem!..I am cookin cookin cookin girly!!!

    Big ole hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! :):):)

  17. I'm eating me some turkey ... c-)

  18. Over the river and through the...oh, who am i trying to kid? Over the lake and through the swamp to Grandma's house we will be going this week. Mom cooks the turkey and some sides, and i bring the cornbread dressing and pie, and i mash the potatoes and make the gravy once i'm there.

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving week!

  19. Headed to the farm tonight. Will get there tomorrow afternoon. Joys of red eyes.

  20. I'll be cooking for Thanksgiving but it's just me, my husband and my daughter

  21. Don't worry, My NSA always knows where Sandee is. Yes I would love to meet you and your hubby in person sometime.

I tried to be a Commodore some months back. It didn't work out that well. Maybe a boat might have helped.

I'm still not feeling %100 so Thursday is for Turkey, Football and naps.

See you tomorrow with something really funny for Silly Sunday.

  22. I am glad that you are out having a wonderful time with good friends. Have yourself a Happy Thanksgiving.I am giving thanks that blogging has given me the opportunity to get to know you Sandee! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

  23. Now I'm going to have to go back and look at all your old comments to find out when you were on your boat!

  24. I so agree with you Sandee, there are people you just can't like no matter how hard you try.I've met a lot of people like that, nice at first but then the true nature comes out. Sigh.

We don't have thanksgiving but we're getting ready for Christmas (getting ready also means preparing our selves for maybe one of our loneliest Christmas ever as this is the first time we will be celebrating without my Dad)

Have a great week ahead my friend!! You're one of the few people I look up tp in the internet world :)

  25. I work in the morning, then hubby will pick me up and we'll drive 5 hours to my Mom's house. In 31 years, I've only missed one Thanksgiving with my family.

  26. My kitchen is spared; going to my sister's place. As for Seymour...he's getting Thanksgiving Arkansas-style. When he was told he'd get fatback and possum grits, he commented "if the back's fat, ain't the front too?".

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the blogosphere. All comments are very much appreciated.

♥♥♥Have a terrific day.♥♥♥
