Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that. I'll even answer my own question as that's only fair.

So here's this weeks question: Have you ever broken any bones?
I've not broken any bones, but I fractured my left elbow the day before my retirement. Being a cop you learn how to fall and I stepped off a loading dock into a free fall. I was holding a bouquet of flowers that created the problem, and everything went into slow motion. I pushed the flowers away from me as I didn't want to land on glass, and began turning my body so I would roll off my left shoulder. I missed it by 'that much' resulting in a fractured left elbow.

  1. Yes, I broke my elbow back in the 80s. Had to have surgery and pins put in. Slipped on a wet rug.

  3. Nope and don't intend to. My dad broke his hip though when he fell on MY driveway. Then he absolutely refused to go to the hospital for hours! I don't think he realized it was actually broken.

  4. Yup. Too many times when I was pre-teen and a teenager. Collar bones, an arm, mostly broken baby toes from walking into doorway edges and table and chair legs. My parents just thought I was accident prone or a clutz. And I was... because I had no depth perception. Once I got glasses, the broken bones stopped.

Although I did break a baby toe on the morning of my wedding. Oy.

Have a fab day! big hugs xoxo

  5. Ouch! A broken elbow sounds miserable. Not the best way to ring in retirement, for sure.
I've never broken a bone, but the year isn't over. The rate our family is going in 2013, it's highly likely that I will.

    Have a lovely day!

  6. Ouch! A fractured elbow sounds rather painful. I have only broken one bone - my finger when I accidentally slammed it in a car door a couple of years ago.

  7. My middle finger trying to catch a softball and my pinkie toe. Let's not talk about ligaments. Those are worse. Trust me.

    Big hugs, honey...

  9. That sure doesn't sound like fun to break your elbow. I had a bad break in my ankle and had to wear a cast up to my hip for four months. But I am in that it was all I have broken so far. Have a great day Sandee.

  10. Yikes, that doesn't sound like anything I'd like to repeat.

I did fracture my ankle and tore ligaments in the process which was even more painful. :(

  12. I have never broken a bone. You were quite skillful not to have suffered worse injury back then. Enjoy the rest of your day Sandee.

  14. Owie! I heard fractures take longer to heal than breaks. I broke a rib, about an inch off the tip. not much you can do but lay on ice and try not to laugh!

  15. That wasn't a fun way to start retirement! I broke a rib from coughing when I had pneumonia once. It happened at work and was the most painful thing ever!

Hope you're enjoying your Wednesday! Smooches to Little Bit!

  16. Yes, I have broken a bone in my foot when I was just a child. My younger cousin was chasing me around the school grounds and I hit a hole with my foot which caused the small bone at the side of my foot to break. I was in a cast for several weeks to mend it. I still have a lump at the side of my foot from this break.

  27. Thankfully it's been over 50 years since I last broke a bone. I broke my wrist in 8th grade gym class and I broke my ankle in 9th grade, playing football. Since then, I've managed to keep all of my structural components in one piece.
