Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that. I'll even answer my own question as that's only fair.

So here's this weeks question: If you could live at any time in history, when would it be?
It would be hard to give up all my creature comforts, but I'd like to go back to the wild west. Just for a little while and then I could return to my comfortable existence.

  1. That is a hard question because of what we have now ..better healthcare and technology etc it is difficult to imagine it although I did love the 70's when I was a teenager ...having said that I do like watching old films and period drama.

    Have a historytastic day ;-)

  2. This is a tough question. I've always thought it would be kind of nice to live in the mid 1800's but then when I stop to really think about it, things were pretty tough back then compared to our cushy life style now

  3. I don't think I'd want to change the "when", although sometimes I do wonder what it would be like had I been born in Tuscany! Such a beautiful place! Plus? Italian men, wine, pasta.

    And wine. :)

Have a wonderful day, Sandee! Big hugs xoxo

  4. Funny that this is your question, as I did a blog hop today about time travel, asking almost the same question. Only in my hop, I planned to witness and event and come back. If I had to "live" then, I would stay in the now.

  6. I used to think I wanted to live in the 1850's ish. But only if I could be really rich. I think Gone with the Wind had something to do with it.
But then I realized, I like to live in my pajama pants at home. No way would I want to be dressed in all that garb all day every day! And I'd have to use an outhouse. And there wouldn't be A/C or fans. I'll stick with no time travel, thanks. :)
    Have a lovely day!

  9. I think I would like to try the west in the late 80's. And that is only because horses are such a big part of life at that time. Good question. Have a great day Sandee.

  10. I think I would like to live in the late 50s and 60s. I did as a child, and think being a grown up then would have been wonderful.

  12. I enjoy visiting the past in books and movies, but give me the NOW. I like my indoor plumbing and technology.

    Big hugs, honey...

  13. I do think that we Baby Boomers have lived through the best of times. I fear for the world that our grandchildren must endure.

  14. That is a good question - I think I am glad to be living now.

  16. It would be good to go back to the 80s when I still had my twin and the economic situation in my country and the world was better.

  17. Any other time in history wouldn't have the advantages we have now, so i'll stick to now.

  18. I've been enjoying blogging about and preparing to blog more about my parents era - the Great Depression/WW II time period when they grew up, and then later when they met in the mid-50s. I wouldn't want to deal with the financial struggles of way back then, but I do, however, much admire the people that grew up in that generation. I love how so many of them loved and trusted in God no matter what. I love the values that they lived by - how strong and determined they were - how much they helped others. I love their patriotism - how much they loved their country - how proud they were to fight for it to keep it and their families safe. If I had to choose an era to travel back to and be living in, that would be it. :)

  19. As others have said we do enjoy a certain level of creature comforts, but I think our future is a bit grim what with the erosion of our Bill of Rights and Constitution.
Nothing ever stays the same- change is a constant, but I wish we could go back just a few years ago before our government decided we could not think for ourselves.
If it weren't for the racial inequalities I would like to have lived in the pioneer days and the Oregon Trail. Now there were some intrepid folks who saw the incredible landscape and potential of our country.
Good question Sandee- have a great day!

  20. I'm too used to modern conveniences to go back too far but I'd like to go back and buy stock in companies that would have allowed me to retire early! :)

Hope you and Little Bit have a fabulous day!

  21. After giving this a lot of thought, I decided that I was born in the best time. I can't think of a better time to live than the late 40's through to now.

  22. So many old historic periods have been romanticized in movies, books ect... but I would miss lots of modern conveniences. Maybe I would go back to grow up during the decade I was born, the 50's. Times seemed more innocent & easily reigned in from some of the madness of current day. Faythe @ GrammyMouseTails

  23. Wow... At times I think I was born in the wrong decade. But I prefer the here and now. I'm a present-time girl!

  24. HEY! This is MR. Red Raider (Donnie). Chelle B. at The Offended Blogger has decided to fire humorbloggers.com up again. I told her that I'd be on board with that. I've been away from my sweet, innocent little blog for quite some time, but I wanted to simply let you know that once I get my blog back in order (figure out how to do this crap again) I will be back in touch on a regular basis. Looking forward to it. Shouldn't take me but a few more days. Damned. I forgot all of this blogging stuff. Anyway, I'm still at www.beyondleftfield.net. Later girl

  26. 200 years in the future. Think of all the questions of today that will be answered by then. I'd love to know stuff.

  27. Dear Sandee, Oh they say to be careful what you wish for.....though if I were to "time travel" ....it would be the 1930's those old movies look so nice and the ladies all dressed so pretty. Blessings dear. Catherine xo
