Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that. I'll even answer my own question as that's only fair.

So here's this weeks question: Live in the big city or out in the country?
Big cities give me the hives. I don't care for them one bit. We currently live in a small city (6,000), but if I had my choice I'd leave California and live in the country somewhere.

  2. Yes. Or a little of both. I live in a decent-sized city but I'm tucked into a well-kept Swamp secret. Best of both worlds!

I could never in a million live in a big city. The traffic would kill me from stress. srsly.

Have a perfectly YAYful day! big hugs xoxo

  5. I like living in the city but enjoy visiting the country. If I lived in the country, I'd probably get used to it but would miss all the stores, restaurants, libraries, hospital and police and fire protection so close by in the city.

  7. I have always lived in the country which I am sure has to do with what I do as far as animals goes. I couldn't even consider living in the city. Take care.

  11. I was born & raised in Chicago until age 10, and then country. I much prefer country! I don't care for crowds, traffic, or "city life". I like open spaces, natural wildlife, and peace & quiet.

  15. In the big city, all the nut cases are concentrated. In the country, they're spread out. I'd rather deal with a nut case one on one that with a group of them.

  16. I moved from the city to what I thought was the country.
Then, the place where I moved got too big (bigger than from where I'd moved).
    So I moved again.
Even that's gotten a lot bigger.
Now I'm almost too old to move again.

  17. I don't like overly large cities but I couldn't live in the country either. Need a good midsize city.

  18. I dream of living in the country with lots of animals but I want to be within 20 minutes of restaurants, library, grocery store, etc. and within an hour or so of an airport. Our current city is 50,000 people which isn't bad though especially when the nearly 25,000 university students go home on breaks!

  19. Hi Sandee! I will choose the country anytime! We live in a small town here in Iowa, where my son can ride his bike around town, where we live simply, the cost of living is low (compared with cities), and friends are true!

Although I will admit that I love to go on a trip to big cities occassionaly:-)

  20. I live in Chennai, a big city, in India. Though I am happy to be here, I always love to spend time in small villages away from the hustle and bustle of city life breathing fresh air, eating healthy food and meeting innocent people!

  22. I like living near a big city. I can go and enjoy the traffic while on the way to a Dodger game. I'm not sure about country life. I guess I'm a city type of guy.

  25. To paraphrase the old saying, "you can take the man out of the country, but you can't the country out of the man". I've lost nothing in those hell-holes called towns.

  26. we live out in the sticks! really! very rural & surrounded by woods & farms. which is why I like to do a lot of natural plantings. I would like to move to a small city closer to shopping & easier to care for yard. our "old" broken bodies have it hard keeping up with big yard.
    Have a fun week, Sandee!

  27. I'm a country girl all the way! Big cities are noisy and congested and fast-paced. I love quiet, green stuff, and wide-open spaces. The older I get the more I enjoy being away from all that, but I do need conveniences like shopping, good medical care, and an airport within driving distance. Then it's the best of both worlds! Wouldn't you miss your yachting if you moved to the country, Sandee? I suppose we could find you a really big lake to play on! :-)
