Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that. I'll even answer my own question as that's only fair.

So here's this weeks question: Did you do well in school or did you struggle?
When I was growing up I struggled if I didn't study. If I studied I did very well. It took me years to figure this out and apply myself to the best of my abilities.

  1. I enjoyed school, but I think my homeschooled kids have a better life. :)

  2. I was lazy and willful. I did quite well in what interested me... and totally blew off what didn't. Unfortunately, I don't think I've changed much in that regard. srsly.

    I love your question day!

Have yourself a funtabulous day! big hugs xoxo

  3. It was a struggle for me but got better as I went along. Elementary was the worst but I did like 3rd and 6th grade!

  4. I did very good in school (honor roll) until I became about sixteen and decided my boyfriend was more important than studying. Big Mistake.

  5. School came easy for me. I was in Honors classes. School came easy for my husband too, but he chose to goof off rather than apply himself. Now he's 48 and JUST back in college to finish up where he left off. Took him a long time to want to buckle down w/his studies, I know. ;)

  7. I loved school. I discovered early that I had a knack for memorizing material as long as I moved while doing it. I memorized pages and pages of class notes by walking. Guess what my first career was? Actress....I walk therefore I act. Hahaha

  8. I did well in everything but math. Still don't like it. Thank heavens for QuickBooks, but I can still balance a checkbook the old fashioned way!

    Big hugs, honey...

  10. I did well in school, except for math. I went to 9 schools, changing 11 times. You really need continuity to properly learn math. In high school, I was in ROTC, where I lead over 100 cadets. There, I excelled.

  11. Like most, I excelled in those things that I liked and struggled in classes that I didn't like. I got through it. I usually did well in the fall and struggled with spring fever during second semester each year. My wife kept me on track. She's as responsible for my college education as any of my professors.

  12. I struggled had to study a lot. But I made fairly good grades. But it wasn't much fun. But that was all back in the dark ages. Take care.

  13. School came easy for me so I didn't have to study much which is good since I don't like to study! I always knew enough to get really good grades but never really knew things thoroughly - if that makes sense.

    Have a great day Sandee!

  14. I did very well in school, I had the best grades but I did have to work my ass off for those as we were a very competitive group in both highschool and university. My luck :)
    Have a great day, Sandee.

  15. I did pretty good until junior/senior year of high school. By then I was taking college courses at the same time and like college way better than high school.

  16. I was there to learn? I thought it was social time! I had my struggles, but I at least was above average in my grades if only by a thin margin. LOL!

  17. I received A's in Art, History and English, and I received failing grades in Math, Science and PE. This made me a C student.

  18. School came easy for me and I enjoyed learning. I didn't have to study, so I had to learn how to do that when I began college which took more work.

  22. I did well except for algebra which made no sense to me at all. Had to take it 2x to pass. But I loved geometry...it made sense...go figure!! I didn't finish college until my late 40's and then I excelled as I was just a tad bit more mature! Cheers! Have a grand day!

  23. Struggled till the 9th grade and then I realized the power of brown nosing the teacher

  24. I did well in high school, graduating in the top 10% of 48. It would have been better but when I transfered in as a Junior they said that no one could have as good grades as I had so they discounted "a little."

Terrible was the word for my first three semesters of college. Fourteen academic (not P.E. or ROTC) hours were all that I could transfer out. I had not learned to study in high school as I did not need to in order to get good grades.

Better on my second try at college. I learned how to study and stopped after getting three degrees. Then I began teaching because I liked the college atmosphere.

  25. :)) My second try was eleven years and four kids later(I have one more kid and one other wife. Losing spouses is a major casualty of college life.).

  27. I never studied until I got in college and then only the nite before the test. Maintained a "B" average and that was fine with me. Grades were not that important to me.

  28. I did not struggle with the Arts but I found Maths, Chemistry etc. difficult!:) Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday Sandee.

  32. Did well but was generally bored.

  33. I was lucky in that I got excellent grades with little effort. Mostly straight A's without effort. It was the things outside the schoolwork that made me struggle with school.
