Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that. I'll even answer my own question as that's only fair.

So here's this weeks question: When you were growing up were you athletic? In other words when the team captains picked their team members were you near the top or down near the bottom or last?
There were two gals that were always picked first and I was one of them. I was extremely athletic for many many years. Both of us gals were the first born and both worked on farms.

  1. I was usually at the bottom apart from running I was always chosen in the team for that.

(When I say running I meant in races LOL)

    Have a fantabulistic day

  2. I was average in athleticism but very competitive and supportive of my teammates. Picked somewhere in the middle.

  3. If my friends weren't the captains I was near the end, always, and with good reason. ;)

  4. I was very athletic, which is why I think I'm doing as well as I am as quickly as I am at the gym, you know... for an old broad. :D Apparently, there is such a thing as "muscle memory" and previously athletic people seem to respond quicker when they start working out again years later. I did dance for 8 years, then I was on the gymnastics team, played very competitive volley ball and played on the Basketball team for 10th and 11th grades in high school. Then I started dating seriously and things just went down hill from there. bahahahaha!

Have a perfectly lovely day!! big hugs xoxo

  6. I was sorta in the middle. I was always moving around and doing flips, backbends, cartwheels, and climbing trees in my yard. Fun times.

    Big hugs, honey...

  7. I was at the end, because I was more the cheerleader type. Very much a girly girl. Liked watching sports, but not doing them.

  8. Last to be picked!!! Despite a few years playing JV and Varsity basketball. I just didn't like sports that much.

  11. I was a tomboy...needless to say I was picked first because I could swing a bat and hit homeruns. I spent all my time outdoors playing. I was agile and quick on my feet. Wish I was now.

  12. Oh I was definitely and athletic when I was growing up. I played any sport I could and was always one of the top people. I loved it. Then spent most of my life riding horses and teaching riding. Now I can barely walk. LOL.Take care.:D

  13. I loved baseball- wasn't much good at it so had to wait to be chosen- I sure wasn't the first!
But I loved baseball! We used to play work-ups in our neighborhood after dinner. Great fun- thanks and have a great day!

  14. I was usually last. Actually, the coach would assign the last two kids to a team so both sides ended up with an athletic loser.

  15. I was not in the school sports team. We had a private cricket club and I was a prominent player in my college days.
    Have a great day!

  16. Uh, I hated those days. I wasn't picked first but wasn't picked last either.

  17. I'm incredibly competitive, so I was always a early choice. Some captains picked me merely to not have me on the other side. I hit hard and often. Not much into organized sports, but street games were my bailiwick.

  18. I was definitely in the last bunch to be picked. I am competitive, but very uncoordinated and anything but athletic. SIGH

  22. My twin and I were not athletic at all. We had a first cousin who was coach of a high school that did very well in athletics and the teachers asked us if we were really related to him!:) Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday Sandee.

  25. I liked to play sports in the grade school at recess time. I got picked then. But I am not atheletically inclined so I was picked last if they still needed another player.

  26. When I was very young (grade school age) I was picked somewhere in the middle but once I got to high school I was usually picked last. I had gym class with some very competitive guys and they took offense to me letting the ball bounce on the floor next to me. Of course the only reason I did this was because I got tired of being pushed out of the way so that they could get it.

  27. I had really bad hand eye coordination & every one knew I was hopeless at catching balls or hitting them so I always got picked last. Tennis, couldn't hit the moving ball, cricket, couldn't hit the moving ball,, basket ball, couldn't catch the moving ball, football, couldn't catch the moving ball, baseball/softball, couldn't hit or catch themoving ball & always got struck out. The only sport I was good at & enjoyed was golf 'cos you only ever had to hit a stationary ball

  28. I played baseball and football through high school. I played softball until I was 40. So, yes, I was athletic and sports were a part of my life for most of my life.
