Seymour our visiting pet rock is finally fitting in nicely. He loves champagne too. Way too much in fact. Have you ever seen a pet rock tipsy? It's not pretty, but he's older than us so we'll let him drink what he wants when he wants.
The Seafood Chowder feed was a huge success. We had 30 people in attendance and that's a lot of people for the small area we had to work with. It worked out just fine. There were tons of finger foods, and lots of delicious wine. People had a great time. I thought the guys would play games and instead they decided to hang out and catch up on the events in their lives. The gals decided to play quarters and we had two winners. The game of quarters can be exciting and it can also get very loud.
Hubby and I, along with one of the attendees who donated one door prize, had a total of 5 door prizes. Each hour we drew a name for a door prize. It was a fun thing to look forward to each hour. Really nice baskets and a couple of bottles of good booze. It went over very well and we'll do it again next year when we host this feed.
Hubby and I now feel like we've been hung out to dry. We were on our feet for hours yesterday dicing, cutting and preparing the Seafood Chowder. As I write this it's Sunday morning. We intend to stay on the boat for one more night. We'll go out to dinner tonight and I've a great book (Tripwire by Lee Child) to keep me company this afternoon. My feet are mighty happy I'm sitting down.
Have a terrific day.
