Wednesdays Question

It's Wednesday so that means it's question time. It's time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We'd all like that.

So here's this weeks question: What is your favorite cut of beef? How do you season your meat? Steak sauce?
Filet Mignon is my very favorite. I like it cooked between medium rare and medium. I want the pink and some of the juice, but not any blood running across my plate. Salt and pepper and that's it. I want to taste that delicious cut of meat. I don't have this very often either. Bugger.

  1. I'm not a beef person but a few times a year I will have a filet, just pepper, maybe some garlic powder... and of course I love meatballs with pasta, although lately we've been making them with ground turkey - which is every bit as yummy. So much so, not one person has been able to tell the difference!

Have a lovely day honey. big hugs xoxo

  2. LOL - my favorite is a burger :) Beef tastes completely different in New Zealand as it is grass fed. It took a while to get used to it, and now I prefer it.

  3. This is timely, as Hubby just said last night he wants to go out for a good steak. It's been ages.

I usually have cube steak, thin cut steaks in the freezer. They are great quickie meals that go right on the Foreman grill without thawing first. I usually season with something from my friend who is a Tastefully Simple consultant. They have great seasonings, my newest favorite being a honey bbq rub!

  4. Give me either a NY or KC strip about 2"thick. I use a Canadian steak seasoning and apply almost like a dry rub. Throw it on a hickory fired grill and sear both sides. Cook medium to medium rare. It don't need no stinkin' sauce. Just sayin'.

  7. I love steak, usually New York strip and believe it or not, I eat French dressing on my steak. Started as a teen, and loved it ever since. Don't knock it til yu try it. We very seldom have steak, mostly hamburgers.

  9. My favorite is when I barbecue a Rib Eye Steak. seasoning? ... A person could go straight to hell for using anything other than salt and pepper on it.

  10. Filet mignon prepared exactly as you've described it is hard to beat, but sometimes I like to add a fresh Bearnaise sauce.

  11. Filet mignon at my favorite restaurant and absolutely no steak sauce. To me steak sauce takes away the whole flavor of the steak.

Happy Wednesday honey, I hope you have a wonderful day. Trying to stay warm here in Indiana, maybe you could send me some warm Sandee?

  12. Big juicy medium rare cowboy ribeye (bone-in). Seasoning? just a little bit of salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

But a darn good medium-rare filet with bearnaise is mighty good as well.

    Love me some beast...LOL!

  13. I'm terrible, the closest I've come to eating meat is the occasional taco or meatloaf. I've never even tasted seafood! Such a limited palette!

  14. I don't eat beef often these days but like it best as peppered steak. Then I use onion, escallion, sweet peppers, soy sauce, ginger etc. for seasoning.

  16. We normally buy filets. The ones they have where I work are the best price and the most tender. No steak sauce for me just a little salt and pepper

  19. We don't eat much meat but if we do my hubby buys it so I don't even know what type it is. I don't cook at all so I'm pretty clueless on things but I love everything he makes! :)

  20. In the past, I really liked the smoked beef and steak with crispy flour bandage. But since I run a healthy diet program, I've rarely consume it, because I would often eat boiled meat.

  25. I Love the taste of beef, any part will do...I usually buy the cheapest that I could find in the store...Usually the chuck roast and ground beef (93%). I cook it on low heat, beef stew, or for the ground beef, spaghetti with meat sauce.
