Fragments

We are currently enjoying our boat and this is where we will ring in the new year. We usually go each year as Little Bit doesn't like fireworks and it seems that many save them for the new year celebrations.

We had a wonderful Christmas and I'm hoping that all of you that celebrate Christmas did too. Ours was filled with family and great food. Hubby and I want to host Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner as long as we are able.

I've been pretty bad on the food front this past week. I had a little of everything on Christmas, but on Thursday I decided I just had to have some Cold Stone Coffee Lovers Only Ice Cream (530 calories). I ate every single bite. It was pure fattening heaven. Then on Friday after our monthly hair cuts we decided to go to Togo's for dinner. I had the albacore tuna sandwich and a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup (690 calories). I again ate every single bite.  I will  say I had much more to eat than the ice cream the day before and the calories are not all that far off either.

Hubby and I took all things Christmas down the day after Christmas. All the table linens were laundered, ironed and put away too. You couldn't even tell we had Christmas. Excellent I tell you.

Are you doing anything special to ring in the new year? Going to a party? Staying home? Let us know what you've got planned. We're just going to sit on our boat and enjoy the scenery and each other.

Have a terrific day, a great week and a happy new year everyone.

  1. I put Christmas away on Saturday. We were socked in with snow, so it just felt like the best use of my time. Megan was a huge help, she loves being useful and asked to help these days. I was sad to put it away, but glad the reminder of the fast season was gone. On to bigger better things, as in planning Megan's third birthday! We're thinking tea party! :)

Hope you have a lovely New Year, we are grateful for your friendship.

  2. New Years will include dinner and a movie with friends. All of the interior Christmas decorations are down. I just have to take them to storage. The exterior lights will come down this week-end, weather permitting.
After the Christmas Music Marathon, my blogging will be a little sporadic for the next couple of weeks while I gear up of the new year. Happy New Year to you and yours.

  3. I almost have all of Christmas put away. We have huge plans for tonight, like going to bed early so we can start the New year all energetic. So we are staying home, at least most of us are. Some of the cats may go wandering. A very Happy New Year to you and Zane Sandee. Enjoy that peaceful time on the boat. Hugs to Little Bit.

  6. Just spending the day at home. Our boy works for the local police department and he will be working New Years day, but Mrs. C. and I will be finding ways to celebrate. Happy New Year to you. Thanks for a year of humor and thoughtful questions. See you in 2013.

  7. Happy last day of 2012 to you and Zane!

I'm not doing much of anything tonight except changing over the calendar and going to bed early as I'm off to work for 16 hours tomorrow. My dispatch partner and I will be spending the day watching the last two movies in the Harry Potter series in between 911 calls and such. We started our Harry Potterathon on Christmas Day so that will wrap it up!

  8. Having lunch with friends, staying home tonight. Easy peasy. We don't like being out on the roads with the drunks. Being on the boat sounds heavenly.

Big hugs to you and Zane, honey...

  9. Hubby will be asleep by 8pm. So it'll be a normal night. Only difference is that I got a pile of magazines from B&N, so I'll be relaxing and reading.

  17. Sounds like you had a great Christmas. It's pretty hard not to overeat at least a bit over the holidays. Tomorrow's another day, or in this case another year.

    Happy New Year, Sandee!

  18. Gail did same as you. She took down all our Christmas decorations the day after, while I was at work. After the long holiday season it's nice to get back to our usual routines.

We are doing something different this year. We are going to a New Year's Eve Masquerade, hosted by one of our favorite local restaurants. The food will be delicious. And they will even pick us up and drop us off in a limo. Should be great fun!

  19. All true rednecks keep the outside lights up year round. Our lawns are not pretty and nice, but our roofs sparkle.

  20. The evening on your boat sounds wonderful! We just enjoyed a lot of calories in our yummy meal and will be watching a couple of movies later. We're hoping no one around us has fireworks as they scare Angel so bad. Happy New Year to you, your hubby and Little Bit!

  23. Just spent the evening listening to our two little boys slumber away the first few minutes of our new year. Checked the ol' email to see if my dad had responded to my Christmas request to visit with his grandsons - I guess not. So I plopped on a documentary regarding the state of our social fabric focusing on the premise that we are, in-fact, molded primarily by our environment; genetics providing only the false-work for our existence. Meaning, while you rest listfully upon the waters ever polluted by the progress of mankind, restless minds, such as myself, continually ponder the eternal question of "Why won't you invite us for a ride on that beautiful boat of yours?"

  24. We had Christmas here for everyone on Christmas eve.

We took down our tree and got everything put away Christmas day. It was so nice to have the house back in order.

I had no plans for last night. Mollipop and I watched t.v. and went to bed early!!

I hope you guys have fair sailing and a wonderful time on your boat!!
    Hugs:-)

  25. It's really a nice long holiday. And we are offered a wide range of things that tempt our health. But don't ever feel guilty if we ever eat foods that are less healthy.

Happy new year 2013, Grandma :)
