A Sad Homecoming

We're home safely and had a great time as well as a few frustrating times, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. We came home and our dog Little Bit talked and talked telling us that she was so happy that we were home.

I've not looked at a computer screen since we left on January 19th. I decided to take a break from blogging and at the time it seemed like a great idea. Now? Not so much.

While we were gone we lost a very dear friend to cancer. He's in heaven now and watching over Miss Bee and all his family and friends. I love you Miss Bee and I love you Sarge Charlie. I can't turn off the waterworks.

This wonderful tribute to Sarge Charlie was done by Linda of Are We There Yet?? Thanks Linda! Tons of hugs to you Miss Bee.

I'll let all of you know about our trip to Hawaii very soon and of course share some great pictures.

  5. oh honey i am so sorry this has upset you so. i thought about contacting john to tell you (he sent me an email) but decided sarge would not have wanted your long-awaited cruise to be saddened in any way and there was nothing you could have done but be sad so you can do that now but just for a little while. ok? and know that he loved and respected you and zane and was so proud to meet you in person.

    love 'ya!

  12. I knew this sad news was going to hit you hard when you got home but I can certainly understand Bee's desire not to upset you during your vacation and she's right, being sad now and being sad then is unfortunately pretty much the same.

It has been a tough week for all who knew and loved Sarge; the Blogospehere won't be the same without him but thank God we had him while we did.

I'm hoping he's been looking down from heaven and watching all of the love and support that has been pouring out from all over and saying Holy Crap! :-)

  13. I am with Ann. I saw the news about Sarge and right away thought about you. What a sad homecoming for you. And what a nice message from Bee. And it is probably very very true.
But we are glad you are home all safe and can just imagine how happy Little Bit is to see you. Take care.

  19. Oh wow it worked this time after a long wait. I had the same problem trying to upload images & post or save posts on my site. I'd have to close my browser & start over each time. That's why I got so frustrated with it & transferred my blog to Wordpress.com.

  26. I've been thinking of you all something fierce during this time. I know it's not fun coming home to bad news.

But think about your baby and how excited she was that you're home.

Still misty eyed here... Sending y'all hugs.
