Groundhog Day 2012

In the coming New Year, 2012, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address will occur on the same day.

This is an ironic juxtaposition of events.

One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to an insignificant creature of little intelligence for prognostication.

The other involves a groundhog.

  1. lol...How do you do that? How do you get me each time? It's a bit uncanny. (I had to pull out my dictionary at 'least' three times. You made me laugh and taught me something at the same time =)

  7. Now that's a good one and I totally agree with Barb, too! I'd much rather vote for a groundhog than the caste of characters up for election this next go-round.

  11. I feel for poor Phil the Groundhog. Even being mentioned in the same sentence as B.O., and he really is a stinker!
    Thanks for the laughs Sandee!

  13. Good one Sandee! At least the groundhog gives us a reason to smile and we know he is always going to be half right!

  14. If the groundhog gave the speech, at least it would be sensible.

Sorry I missed you for Christmas my friend. All three of us got sick with stomach flu and one week we did completely nothing, but taking care of each other. Recovered just in time for Christmas.
Hope all is well with you and wishing you happy new year - laugh, love and dance! Anna :)
