You know it's July in Florida when:

1. Hot water comes out of both taps.

2. You find out that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty nice branding iron.

3. The trees are whistling for the dogs.

4. You find out that you can get sunburned through your car window.

5. The birds need to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.

6. You burn your hand opening the car door.

7. The temperature drops below 95 and you put on a sweater.

8. You can make instant sun tea.

9. Shade determines the best parking space, not distance.

10. Farmers feed their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard boiled eggs.

11. When you step outside at 7:30 a.m., you break into a sweat.

12. Potatoes cook underground. This is convenient because all you have to do is pull one out and add salt, pepper and butter.

13. You discover that asphalt has a liquid state.

14. You realize that it only takes two fingers to steer your car.

  1. Yup, you got that one right. Florida in the heat of summer is HOT!

    Have a great day!

  2. Shoot... it's hot at every time of the day when your low is 85.

I love Spring... but I'm not looking forward to HAWT!

    Big hugs xo

  3. You forgot the burn your ass on the car seats one and I have on occasion seared my hand on the gear shift when I have the top down and forgot to put a towel on it.

  4. Wonder if they can spare some of that for the eskimos in Pennsylvania.

Haha, I'd take some mild HAWT right now. It was in the high 30s this morning.

Its almost MAY for crying out loud!

  5. The one about the chickens made me LOL

  6. Reporting from South Florida...all true!

Except it doesn't get HOT in Florida. Lot's of other places get Hotter. North Texas for example, I call that a broiling heat.

Florida on the other hand is just a nice Sauté!

    Happy Trails.

  7. Some of those are true for us South Carolina people too. But I love the potato one and the chicken one too. They were all good. Take care.

  8. lol be nice to be there now!

  9. sometimes I think I would like to winter in Florida, but we don't have that kind of money.

  10. I have experienced Florida sun in the Winter and that was just perfect. Seems like the Summer sun would kill me...

  11. I would be willing to trade some of my winter weather for that Florida heat

  12. i can tell you we always try to get a shady parking spot!

    smiles, bee

  13. Some of that heat would be welcome after the long long winter!

  14. I would love to go to Florida one day, when we get any hot weather in London and UK It's headline news lol.

Having said that we are experiencing the hottest Easter time since the 80's apparently.

Have a great Easter and don't scoff too many eggs :-)

  15. I'm sure most of us have experienced heat like that. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that kind of heat all summer. My daughter in Phoenix does, though. Big time!

  16. Jeez, except for #7 that sounds just like B-Town!!

  17. Yes, we have two seasons,Hot and Hotter.
