Seymour #1

Last week a blogging buddy sent me his pet rock Seymour. Das Skunkmeister of Skunkfeathers packed up his pet rock, put my name on the box and shipped Seymour to me via UPS. We weren't home on Friday, so we ask a neighbor to be on the lookout for the delivery.

Sure enough he arrived on Friday and the neighbor took care of him until yesterday afternoon when we got home. We opened the box and said hello to Seymour. He turned his back on us. I'm pretty sure he said something about us not even being home for his arrival and him having to sit in a box at the neighbors house for three days. He's not a happy camper. We're letting him be at the moment and hoping he'll get over being angry with us.

Our intent is to take Seymour with us wherever we go and let him have a ball boating, partying, goofing off and getting into trouble. That is if he'll get over being angry at us for not sitting on our doorstep waiting for his arrival last Friday.  We knew he was going to be a handful, but we weren't expecting we'd get off on the wrong foot immediately.

Isn't boating an awfully dangerous pastime for a pet rock? He'd better wear a life jacket.

Maybe if you find him a cute pebble he'll forget all about being angry with you :)

I've got one of those wonderful maintainance free buddies. Had it for more years than I would like to recall. Tim, that's his name, we outlive me and I suspect all my kids and grandkids. Each generation will have to find him a new home, I suppose. Tim belonged to someone long before I was born---some ancient paleo-indian. I found him quite by accident where he had been buried before his time. Now he occupies an honored place in my home and is listed in my will.

I got a new vocabulary "pet rock Seymour". Hehehe :-)
It's been a long time I did not have a pet.

Congratulation Grandma.

Welcome Seymour!!! :)
Won't you please visit my blog when Sandee comes. Her post today reminded me of the ventriloquist on our ship last week.

His dummy talked very nicely and was funny. Perhaps Sandee could learn to throw her voice so that you would be talking for real instead of make believe.

Sorry to hear that you got off to a rocky start with Seymour. I'm sure that Seymour will be forgiving if you take him to McDonald's for a Happy Meal. Or perhaps a Rock concert. Looking forward to some photos so we can See More of Seymore

Too cute! We look forward to a pic of Seymour on your boat. I bet he'll forgive you after that. Have a great weekend!

Seymour's pretty easy-going, long as you don't leave him in an "ignitable kitchen" environment, like here. And no, to your readers who wonder, Seymour is not one of those 'pet rocks' from the 1970s; Seymour is a one of a kind pet rock who long predates any fad pet rocks. And it took me a tad to get a response on this; been down with the flu all week :-( That will make Seymour happy he's there, and NOT here. He knows how whiny I am when I'm sick ;-)
