Fragments

We had a terrific time on our boat this past week and rang in the new year in a very quiet way.  It was wonderful to say the least, and Little Bit didn't hear any fireworks at all.

This Friday we're going to boat over to our first yacht club event at Garlic Brothers Restaurant & Bar and it looks like five other boats will come along. It's always a treat to boat somewhere when you've not gone anywhere for a couple of months.  This trip will take us about two hours one way.

I'm back on my healthy eating plan after being bad for about five days.  Shame on me, but when you fall off the wagon you have to get up, dust yourself off and get back in the game.  I'm back in the game.  Okay Empress Bee?

I won three books at a book giveaway at Jody's Book Reviews. They are: Dearly Depotted, Mums the Word and Slay It with Flowers.  I'm reading the last of the three and they are very, very good.  I would highly recommend them.  Interesting characters and Abigail (lead character) gets into everyone's business.  It's a wonder she's survived some of the scrapes she's gotten into.  Bless her heart.

I know I say this often, but I'm ready for spring now.  It's cold and I'm ready to wear shorts, T-shirts and flip flops.  I'm ready to be comfortable outside instead of being all bundled up.  How about you?  Do you like having all the seasons, or are you a fair weather person like me?

Have a terrific day, a great week and a happy new year everyone.

  3. I do like all of the seasons, but I'm not interested in two feet of snow for three months. I like sitting by the fire place in the winter. I love the changing colors of fall. I enjoy the fun that is summer and I look forward to the new life that is spring.

  4. Congratulations on winning the books. I use to love to read until college. Now, I rarely read.

I am glad you guys had a good time on your boat and hope your upcoming cruise will prove fun also!!

I do love to watch the colors of the seasons as they change. That's one thing I really loved about living in Maine.

However, to get those dramatic changes you do endure a ton of snow, blizzards and cold, cold, cold for 8 to 9 months out of the year. It really affected my depression badly. The DR.'S were all in agreement I should move back to a sunnier region and we did.

Except for this year. Normally I am still cutting roses through December and we even have 70% days in January. But not this year. It has been cold, raw, damp and it's been weeks since we had a bright sunshiny day.

I am ready for Spring too!
    ♥ big hugs ♥

  6. Yesterday was the first day above freezing here in over a week. The nights were around zero and the days got up to maybe 25 degrees ... whoop-pee!

  10. My hands are freezing today, so can i wish for Spring? I'm sure that time will fly by fast enough. No use in wishing my life away.

Congrats on the book win! I got one of my book wins on Saturday, just in time. I'll be starting it later.

  18. I'd be very pleased if spring arrived tomorrow, too, but unfortunately we've got a couple of months of winter to get through first.

  19. Shorts, T-shirts and flip flops are a great option to enjoy the scenery outside, even in my country there is no spring.

Have a great week, Grandma :-)

  22. I am glad that last week you had a terrific time on your boat and hope you have a wonderful time this weekend with the yacht club. I am eating less these days. Wow! Lucky you to have won 3 books Sandee! We have the 4 seasons here in Jamaica but basically a lot of sunshine throughout the year and some places are even hot during winter. Where I am located it does feel chilly at times and I need to wear extra clothes. Anyway you would laugh at what I call chilly!:)
