Fragments

It's a lot of work getting ready for Thanksgiving but it's such a labor of love.

California is the first state to tax more on those making over $250,000 per year. Is anyone surprised about this? I didn't think so. I'm sure the ones that don't make this kind of money voted to tax those that do make this kind of money. See where the country is going here?

I'm just not a cold weather fan. It's cold here and I hate being bundled up all the time. The weather should allow me to wear sandals, shorts and a t-shirt all year long.

Have you ever volunteered for an organization and you don't really know what to do and those above you don't tell you what you need to do? I'm experiencing that right now and I'm not liking it much. It's as if my time has no value at all.

This coming weekend it's time to put up the Christmas tree. I'm all for that. Then as soon as Christmas is over we can have spring show up. Just saying.

Have a terrific day and week everyone.

  1. I so agree with what you are saying Sandee, of course we don't even come close to making that type of money, I am on the poor end. To me there is no such thing as middles class anymore, at least this is my view, and I am not trying to push my views on anyone, just sayin'

Weather -> Hubby keeps telling (promising) me when he retires we are going someplace warm so my body won't ache as bad in this horrid cold weather, I just can't stand it. I want to go outside and wear a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops year round. Now if I would have to put on a pair of jeans with my flip-flops and a light sweater over my t-shirt, I wouldn't complain one bit. I just want warm, or cool, not freezing and snow up to my 'you know what' lol! I am so down for getting the hell out of here. I pray I live to see that day come, God willing. My bags are packed!!

Have a wonderful day and an awesome week honey ((HUGS))

  3. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. We have been cleaning and preparing for Hubs family to come. Happy Thanksgiving to you.

I wish we lived some where that wasn't so hot in the summer. The rest of the year is great, but summer.

  5. Congratulations! I noticed the fitness tracker changed numbers! You are awesome!

I love MOnday's here, too! (To echo the Empress' comment.)

I am really wishing I had an artificial tree this year. I had been getting fresh trees, but now I want one up sooner! And leave it up longer!!! I lent ours to my SIL. So I don't have much of a choice. lol.

But I am ready! I have been for a week now. So excited for this time of year and to make tons of memories for my little angel.

  6. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Lots of cooking and baking. I promised to make pies again. I refuse to even consider thinking about Christmas until it's over. If we put up a tree, it's on the wife's birthday in the middle of December.

  7. I agree with Miss Bee! Love the fragment posts.

I can't put up a tree here at the swamp. Nowhere to put one. And MotherDear isn't putting her little one up this year since we're flying home for Christmas for 10 days. Works for me!

If they don't value your time, for Heavens sake, don't give it to them. Life's too short and I'm sure somebody out there will appreciate you.

Have yourself a yayful day, honey! big hugs xoxo

  9. Oh Sandee I was moved to tears when I saw your name!! I have missed you so very very much. But I needed to get away from this PC before I put myself in the hospital!!

I love your blog and had it not been for Walter coming in just a few minutes ago your link would have been listed. It is up now.

I am so excited about your weight loss. Getting healthier at our age is definitely a good thing.

My answer to your question today is yes and it is very frustrating...just saying!!

Big big hugs right back at you!!
    Love ya'

  10. Sandee, I know what you mean about your volunteer efforts. Find what you feel the needs are and do your thing. That way it will matter to you and the recipients. We do good things not only to please others, but to please ourselves.

It's cold and rainy here. My fingers and toes are like ice.

  11. The only thing I don't like about Thanksgiving is that it's a reminder of how NOT ready I am for Christmas. Oh well, ready or not it's on it's way

  12. Being a volunteer of an organization may have tiring, but it will train your brain and mind to avoid senility.

You apparently have getting ready to welcome Christmas. I also can not wait for the december :)

  13. WONDERING WHEN WE WILL GET A DOG TAX VOTED ON DOG LOVERS BY THOSE THAT DON'T OWN THEM. IN MOST STATES NOW NON-PROPERTY OWNERS CAN VOTE TAXES ON THOSE THAT OWN PROPERTY---SOMETHING WRONG WITH THAT. AS FOR WARM WEATHER, I USE TO LIVE ON THE COAST IN SOUTHWESTERN MEXICO AND WORE SHORTS AND SANDELS YEAR ROUND---THAT WAS GREAT, REALLY GREAT. ALSO WAS SHIRTLESS MOST OF THE TIME---EVER TRY THAT? JUST JOKING GIRL!

  15. You are seeing the "insider problem" and I can prove that I have no effective ideas for what to do about it.

And example (I am sorry to report, one of several) from my life:

My wife and I got interested in a girls softball league (that is is redundant and racist, I guess) when out three began to show an interest.

My wife (the athlete in our pairing) was allowed to coach or manage teams, but not to have much sway on directions and long-term goals.

I was pretty good at fields maintenance and such and was allowed to work MY ass off--but not to say much about providing for the long haul.

The PTB had stables of daughters that kept them in power from some time long before my wife and I arrived on the scene.

Every decision was driven by the need to showcase the then current crop of daughters--no outsiders were allowed into the inner circle.

The one day the youngest in each clan "aged out and their parents were gone.

There was nobody left to carry on.

We sold or gave away the equipment--I don't know what happened to the fields--soccer pitches or baseball diamonds, I expect.

  17. I just assumed California constantly raised everyone's taxes.

  18. I wouldn't be all that opposed to the tax if they used it to get out of debt, instead of throwing it away at more entitlement programs.

Honestly, I kind of like the four seasons. Winter here isn't all that long, although it can get very cold and snow will definitely fly.

I'm not much of a volunteer, but my wife manages to get me involved in those kinds of activities. Fortunately, she is extremely well organized. If the organization doesn't know what to do or how to do it, my wife can fix that for them.

The tree and exterior lights will go up this week-end as well. But Friday starts the third annual DrillerAA Christmas Music Marathon. See you then.

  19. I wish I can experience Thanksgiving someday :) and yup..congrats on the additional 1 pound loss.

The weather here now is so lovely, not too warm and not too cold either :) I'm loving it!

  20. I am not a cold weather fan either, I have to admit I was quite surprised how not hot it is here in New Zealand. It mirrors San Francisco weather although opposite seasons.

  21. Luv, luv the Monday Fragments! Sorry about the tax thing. I obviously do not have that problem. I on the opposite end of the spectrum wondering when my SS and medicare will be cut out.lol What a mess our country is in right now with finances!

    Another pound gone!!! yes!!!

It is cold nights and cool days here. Every time you complain about your weather girlfriend, just remember I would love to be there in CA!!!! Miss it so much!

  22. Have yourself a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING Sandee!

  23. Happy Thanksgiving, Sandee. Our weather man said that besides lots of taxes California is getting lots of rain lately.

We must protect the rights of the minority. See what the majority did to make California be the first state to tax more on those making more than the average (i.e. the minority).
