Tower Park Bridge

Last weekend hubby and I cruised into Marina West Yacht Club with our yacht club. It was hotter than the dickens, but we enjoyed a wonderful weekend. The Tower Park bridge opened twice Sunday morning. I've been boating on the California Delta since the 70s and have never seen this bridge open. It was pretty exciting. Hubby is narrating the bridge opening.

I hate to burst your bubble but in Charleston, S.C. that happens all day long and it is a pain. But glad you are enjoying it. The ones in Charleston went up. We may have had one that turned but the hurricane Hugo took that bridge out. But great job Zane. Hope that big boat doesn't bump into you. Take care.

Very interesting. Portland has so many bridges it's nicknamed "Bridge City," but I rarely see them drawn up.

Amazing that something that heavy can be moved like that. I've seen (only in movies) bridges that raise to allow boats to pass but never one that opened like this

Your boating trips must be so enjoyable Sandee! Continue to have a great time.

Hi Sandee ~~ This is a neat video. Thank Hubby for me for the making of it.

FYI, it is a 'swing bridge.' They are quite popular for railroad bridges where they don't have to be openned very many times a day.
