Idiots and Retail

I was signing the receipt for my credit card purchase when the clerk noticed that I had never signed my name on the back of the credit card. She informed me that she could not complete the transaction unless the card was signed.

When I asked why, she explained that it was necessary to compare the signature on the credit card with the signature I just signed on the receipt.

So I signed the credit card in front of her. She carefully compared that signature to the one I signed on the receipt. As luck would have it, they matched.

Oh, thank goodness they matched! hahahaha! I can't compare signatures over the phone. What's up with that?

Happy rainy Tuesday honey. Big hugs xoxo

None of my signatures are alike! I would have flunked! Details---we are bogged down in details.

Been there, done that! Exactly as you described. I need to take a cue from my friend, all of her cards say - SEE ID. So they have to check her ID everytime. She's been victim of identity theft, I can't blame her one bit!

LMAO, Oh that is so funny. Thank COD those signatures matched. Would have been something if they didn't match. Takes all kinds to make this world go around, thank heavens. Take care Sandee

Silly girl ... I'm in "retail" and I check the ID of everyone. Most say thank you.

silverthoughts2 on 6/26/2012 said...

A lot of stores nowadays really don't have a system in place for checking credit card signatures...since it's all on a machine, and you sign on the machine and the cashier doesn't even see the signature.

Ummmmm. Sure! I've always wanted to sign one of those tickets "Donald Duck" just to see what would happen. But I know it isn't right so I gotta be good.

Janet Gardner on 6/26/2012 said...

Imagine that, it actually matched! lol!
Janet :)

Stephen Hayes on 6/26/2012 said...

I smiled. Of course they both match. Both we signed by you in the clerk's presence.

indeed it is Herculean task. You are lucky!

blueyes on 6/26/2012 said...

unreal lol

I purposely don't sign mine or write on there to check my drivers license. Never been asked or checked. Retails are horrible at that.

You and I are on the same wavelength Sandee...did this cartoon a few years back.

That's what they do to me, Sandee. They's rather ignore.
They can also ask for I.D. like a driver's license.

I generally write, "Ask for I.D." on the line instead of my signaure. I do that ever since the time I had my wallet stolen and the credit cards used.

I have to keep remembering to sign my name the same way at all times. I have a way of writing my Js in different ways. I am getting used to writing it one way though!:)
