Walking can add minutes to your life. This enables you, at 85 years old, to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month. My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60. Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where he is.
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
The only reason I would take up walking is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.
I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing.
I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there.
Every time I utter the dirty word,'exercise', I wash my mouth out with chocolate.
I do have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.
The advantage of exercising every day is so when you die, they'll say, 'Well, she looks good doesn't she?'
If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.
I know I got a lot of exercise the last few years, just getting "over the hill."
We all get heavier as we get older, because there's a lot more information in our heads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
AND...
Every time I start thinking too much about how I look, I just find a Happy Hour and by the time I leave, I look just fine.

I do try to walk throughout the day--to and from the bus stop, up and down stairs at home and at work. That's it until we get temperatures back up in the 60s at least.
Works for me! Exercise is overrated.
I tend to eat a big meal after a long walk, so I just forget about it, LOL.
Dark chocolate please.
Yes, dark choc for me too. I can not imagine myself at 85 or 90. Yikes!
Thanks, I needed that! :-)
Your a nutt woman... The things you run across. Hope your doing good.
hahahaha... I like the one about the health club... silly!
"Every time I get the urge to exercise, I lie down until it passes." I forgot who that line is attributed to but I've always liked it. :)
Some of these made me laugh out loud.
I'm always glad I visit your blog Sandee!
THANK YOU!
I could do with some heavy breathing - time to break out the sneakers! Actually, I really do intend to start doing some walking around the neighborhood if/when our weather ever warms up and I've got no doubt I'll be doing some heavy breathing trying to get back into some exercise!
I walk every day with my dog first thing in the morning. Walking keep me sane...well, sanity is relative I suppose.
Exercising early is a good plan. It's easier to stick with it and once you work out, even a walk, you won't feel guilt about the occasional chocolate indulgence.
i have a walking in place tape. wtf??? why would i have bought that thing i wonder? nuts...

xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
I just walk beacuse of my dog. That's the only exercise I do. Booooo :o(
I like the one about lost grandpa :o)
I'd be greatful to walk a mile a day.
I wash my mouth out with chocolate too! LOL
I actually enjoy walking, but I think working out to look a certain way is totally over rated. I will never have a body like a hollywood super start - I don't care how many miles I run.
I'm with you on the 'exercise' one. Darn, I said it. Where's that chocolate?
i walk around the computer while it is slowwwwwwwwllllyyyyyyyy loading my EC drops!!
Jackie:-))))
ha! I love these Sandee. Hilarious.
Ha ha! Very funny.
**I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there.** :))
Thanks for the grins! Happy Thursday!
Hey, I flunked out of fat school.
My favorite:
'I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing.'
Because that's me.
Hahhaha
"I do have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them."
I can't imagine myself to be like that. Huhuhu
Don't exercise! Just eat a balanced diet...
Have a brilliant day!
Haha! I only remember the word 'walking' when the car breaks down (in my case, it's buses and jeepneys (public trasport here in the Philippines) because I don't have a car) and you have no money left for fare ;o)
I especially like the last 2. Yup, that's my story alright!
I have tried cross country skiing, and found I would rather run in my socks !!!
Sadly, I can relate to some of those rather well.
LOL ... thanks for the chuckles. Just what I needed this evening as I do what I can to catch up ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
