The Handsome Prince...

The Handsome Prince lived on a tropical island. He was not all alone. There were many frogs on the island, and also a mirror, and when he looked in the mirror he couldn't see himself apart from the frogs. He noticed that he was the better looking of the frogs whose reflections also showed in the mirror, and there was something special about his eyes. His eyes were limpid pools but instead of being blue they were green which reflected his deep jealousy of Prince Dragonfly. He vowed that today would be the end of Dragonfly's evil reign over the lilypad kingdom. With that he hoped over to the neighboring island of Zulu Kingdom to find the evil man.

But he wasn't used to his new body, especially jumping with four legs. He felt sleek and slippery and he wanted clothes. Plus, he didn't like how his feet looked -- He wondered if he was going to be a frog forever when another frog approached him and said, "he decided to make a cake for the lovely empress he was expecting any moment!" The Empress, however was allergic to cake. She demanded "Off with His Head!" A friendly jogger passing by said, "You gotta be a Queen to cut someone's head off." So the Empress called the Queen of Memes. She was not at Blogginham Palace so the next step was to book the next unicorn shuttle to Connecticut where he would surely find his beloved.

Tagpole whom he fathered while he was sowing his wild frog eggs all over a pond that had the largest lilypads ever! Now when he finally found his son he was astonished to also realize that he was not a tadpole after all, but, a true replica of himself as he had been as a man, and he got nostalgic and sad, for he was so missing his life. His son looked deep into his eyes and said, "Why isn't Sandee back to rescue us yet?" The frog had a long sad face and thought, after she gets back from her very long boat ride to the tropical island to pick up the Frog Prince and return him to his home so that he could become the man he once was. However he faced many obstacles on the journey to return to his home.

Obstacles. So very many. There were women everywhere, kissing them trying to turn them into their one true love. A real Prince. But how redundant - they were princes already. Their next course of action was to boogie the night away. So he jumped off the boat and hopped onto the Soul Train. What was this music he heard? It was his favorite band playing Smiling Faces, and he thought it ironic, for such a face bewitched him, thus he was in this mess, which he knew could last a moment, or the time of enchantment, which is a long time indeed. As he riveted and hopped to the catchy music, the thought popped into his tiny though very intelligent brain.

Evil forces had deterred the Prince from his mission of ending the life of the evil Prince Dragonfly. How could this be? With the help of his favorite band he returned to Zulu Kingdom and gave the evil Prince Dragonfly the worst case of warts in all history. Prince Dragonfly was covered in warts. His once handsome features only a memory. This was a far better end than mere death.

Just then the Queen of Meme's arrived having heard her help was needed in taking care of the evil cake maker. Mimi, being the good queen she is cast a spell on the Empress and she was no longer allergic to cake. The Empress then said, "Let them eat cake." The frog Prince decided to eat some cake and when he took a bite he was no longer a frog, but a handsome Prince again. All was well again and the handsome Prince returned to his tropical island and instead of many frogs there were all his closest friends. Even his favorite band was there. So, they lived happily ever after.

I want to thank everyone that participated. I think you all did an awesome job on a very cute story.

What I Dun in Dakota...

A cowboy from Texas rode into town and stopped at a saloon for a drink. Unfortunately, the locals always had a habit of picking on strangers, which he was.

When he finished his drink, he found his horse had been stolen. He went back into the bar, handily flipped his gun into the air, caught it above his head without even looking and fired a shot into the ceiling.

"Which one of you sidewinders stole my horse?!?!?" he yelled with surprising forcefulness. No one answered. "Alright, I'm gonna have another beer, and if my horse ain't back outside by the time I finish, I'm gonna do what I dun in Dakota! And I don't like to have to do what I dun in Dakota "

Some of the locals shifted restlessly. The man, true to his word, had another beer, walked outside, and his horse has been returned to the post. He saddled up and started to ride out of town.

The bartender wandered out of the bar and asked, "Say partner, before you go... what happened in Dakota?"

The cowboy from Texas turned back and said, "I had to walk home."

Great Comedy Site

Here is a non-joke type of post for a change :) I've been browsing around the comedy websites and found quite a bunch of really hilarious things. At first it was all about relieving stress though after I stumbled at this online tv shows website I realized I had much to learn. Great content! I will definitely be coming back again and again. I want to expose a few comedy pieces here - they gave me almost two hours of most healthy laughter ever - they are all part of the famous TV show by Byron Allen: Comics Unleashed.

Start from this Max Alexander video and then go on to Alex Thomas and Bill Bellamy. You will see where to move on from there. You will probably want to check out other videos as they have plenty of content. Have great laughing!

The Story Game

I got this idea from Marilyn of More Random Than Average and decided to do this instead of the comment game this week. I don't want to bore all of you to pieces. I just want you to have something to do if you swing by for a visit this weekend while I'm enjoying our boat. So play nice. Okay?

Here's how it works. I'll start a story. You continue it in comments. Each commenter picks up where the last left off. Next week I'll give it an ending and post our story with the links to everybody who participates under the heading, "Contributing Authors". If you have lots of blogs and want me to link one in particular let me know. (www.your url.com in parenthesis might be a nice hint) You can play as many times as you want and the game will run all weekend. Thanks for playing along.

Here's the start:

From a Man's View...

I'm Well-Traveled. Not really, my mind just wanders.

I Love the Limelight. And the Bud Lite, and the Miller Lite ...

I was once arrested for assault at a toy company. Battery not included.

Just when I find the key to success, someone goes and changes all the locks.

I like doing my own thing, except when I can get a date.

I'm A Self-Righteous Jerk. You got a problem with that?

I used to be a man of vision, before the medication cleared it up.

I Own Screwdriver. Will Fix Cat For Food.

Scatological Liar. (I'm full of crap.)

I've Got Lots Of Irons In The Fire. I've given up golf again.

I Am Non-Involved. But don't quote me on that.

I'm My Own Boss. Yet, oddly, I can't stand that jerk.

Can't we all just get a bong?

I've grown tolerant to pepper spray.

I've Got Abnormal fear of Alex Trebek.

I'm A WHIZ KID. Wanna see me whiz?

Scotch With Two Drops of Water

A lady goes to the bar on a cruise ship and orders a Scotch with two drops of water. As the bartender gives her the drink she says, 'I'm on this cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday and it's today...'

The bartender says, 'Well, since it's your birthday, I'll buy you a drink. In fact, this one is on me.'

As the woman finishes her drink, the woman to her right says, 'I would like to buy you a drink, too.'

The old woman says, 'Thank you. Bartender, I want a Scotch with two drops of water.'

'Coming up,' says the bartender.

As she finishes that drink, the man to her left says, 'I would like to buy you one, too.'

The old woman says, 'Thank you. Bartender, I want another Scotch with two drops of water.'

'Coming right up,' the bartender says.

As he gives her the drink, he says, 'Ma'am, I'm dying of curiosity. Why the Scotch with only two drops of water?'

The old woman replies, 'Sonny, when you're my age, you've learned how to hold your liquor. Holding your water, however, is a whole other issue.'

Being Blonde Isn't Easy...

Especially if you're cooking...

MONDAY
It's fun to cook for Bob. Today I made angel food cake. The recipe said beat 12 eggs separately. The neighbors were nice enough to loan me some extra bowls.

TUESDAY
Bob wanted fruit salad for supper. The recipe said serve without dressing. So I didn't dress. What a surprise when Bob brought a friend home for supper.

WEDNESDAY
A good day for rice. The recipe said wash thoroughly before steaming the rice. It seemed kinda of silly but I took a bath. I can't say it improved the rice any.

THURSDAY
Today Bob asked for salad again. I tried a new recipe. It said prepare ingredients, then toss on a bed of lettuce one hour before serving. Which is what led up to Bob asking me why I was rolling around in the garden.

FRIDAY
I found an easy recipe for cookies. It said put all ingredients in bowl and beat it. There must have been something wrong with this recipe. When I got back, everything was the same as when I left.

SATURDAY
Bob did the shopping today and brought home a chicken. He asked me to dress it for Sunday (oh boy). For some reason Bob keeps counting to ten.

SUNDAY
Bob's folks came to dinner. I wanted to serve roast. All I could find was hamburger. Suddenly I had a flash of genius. I put the hamburger in the oven and set the controls for roast. It still came out hamburger, much to my disappointment.

GOOD NIGHT DEAR DIARY
This has been a very exciting week. I am eager for tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe on Bob. If we could just get a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him with Chocolate Moose.

Manic Monday #51 - Egg

The 1895 Rosebud Egg is made of vericolored gold, translucent red and opaque white enamal, diamonds and cream velvet lining. The Rosebud is made of gold and opaque green and yellow enamel. The missing surprises, inside the rosebud, were a crown, made of gold, with diamonds and rubies, and the missing pendant was a cabochon Ruby.

This Louis XVI-style Egg is covered with translucent red enamal on a wave-patterned guilloche field, quartered by lines of rose-cut diamonds and is surmounted by a miniature of Nicholas II beneath a portrait diamond, encircled by rose-cut diamonds. The year, 1894 is set in the base beneath a diamond.

The egg opens to reveal a hinged yellow rosebud, another symbol of the couple's love for one another. The bud in turn originally contained two tiny surprises, a miniature replica of the Imperial crown, representing Alexandra's new life as the Empress of Russia, and a ruby Egg pendant hanging within it. Like the almost identical crown and pendant of the First Imperial Hen Egg, these two surprises were seperated from the Egg before it was sold by the Soviet government in the 1920s; their present whereabouts are unknown. UFO

A flying saucer landed at a gas station on a lonely country road. The two space aliens inside seemed completely unconcerned about detection; in fact, the letters "UFO" were emblazoned in big, bold letters on one side of their shiny craft. As the station owner stood and gawked in silence, paralyzed with shock, his young blonde attendant nonchalantly filled up the tank and waved to the two aliens as they took off.

"Do you realize what just happened?" the station owner finally uttered.

"Yeah," said the blonde attendant. "So?"

"Didn't you see the space aliens in that vehicle?!"

"Yeah," repeated the blonde attendant. "So?"

"Didn't you see the letters 'UFO' on the side of that vehicle?!"

"Yeah," repeated the blonde attendant. "So?"

"Don't you know what 'UFO' means?!"

The blonde attendant rolled his eyes. "Good grief, boss! I've been working here for six years. Of course I know what 'UFO' means 'Unleaded Fuel Only.'"

Manic Monday #50 - Drink

Mo of It's A Blog Eat Blog World has chosen the word drink for this weeks Manic Monday. Since St. Patrick's Day and drink go together I thought I would talk about my green weekend and drinks.

My long absence was because our yacht club always celebrates St. Patrick's Day. This year we went to Tower Park Marina for the weekend. Tower Park has a great bar and there were many drinks; green martinis, green beer, and green lemon drops to name a few. I never saw so many green drinks in my entire life. I spent part of the day Saturday watching Offshore boats come into the marina so they could partake of all the green drinks. Most were dressed in green and and after spending about 2.5 hours drinking all the green drinks, I was a bit worried about them leaving. Let's just say they were pretty drunk. It was scary. Have a great St. Patrick's Day and remember, don't drink and drive. Oh, and this is what they served for dinner last night. Yummy.

Sisters Mathematical and Logical

There were two nuns..

One of them was known as Sister Mathematical (SM), and the other one was known as Sister Logical (SL).

It is getting dark and they are still far away from the convent.

SM: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for the past thirty-eight and a half minutes? I wonder what he wants.

SL: It's logical. He wants to rape us.

SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes at the most! What can we do?

SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster.

SM: It's not working.

SL: Of course it's not working. The man did the only logical thing. He started to walk faster, too.

SM: So, what shall we do? At this rate he will reach us in one minute.

SL: The only logical thing we can do is split. You go that way and I'll go this way. He cannot follow us both.

So the man decided to follow Sister Logical.

Sister Mathematical arrives at the convent and is worried about what has happened to Sister Logical.

Then Sister Logical arrives.

SM: Sister Logical! Thank God you are here! Tell me what happened!

SL: The only logical thing happened. The man couldn't follow us both, so he followed me.

SM: Yes, yes! But what happened then?

SL: The only logical thing happened. I started to run as fast as I could and he started to run as fast as he could.

SM: And?

SL: The only logical thing happened. He reached me.

SM: Oh, dear! What did you do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. I lifted my dress up.

SM: Oh, Sister! What did the man do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. He pulled down his pants.

SM: Oh, no! What happened then?

SL: Isn't it logical, Sister? A nun with her dress up can run faster than man
with his pants down.

And for those of you who thought it would be dirty, say two Hail Marys!

Hat tip to Dixie of Dixie's Heart & Soul. Thanks sweetie!
