I'm off to the boat. Tonight I get sworn in as the new port captain for our yacht club, so while I'm gone I want there to be something for you to do when and if you swing by. How about the comment game?
Here's how it goes: I'll start the game off in the comments section by choosing two words or phrases, like real Christmas tree or fake Christmas tree, and which ever one you prefer you choose. You can also explain why. When you have done that you do two new words or phrases for the next commenter to choose from. Feel free to come back as often as you like. Just have fun and have a great weekend.

40 Brilliant Opinions:
Christmas shopping done/partly done or haven't even started?
I am thrilled to say, christmas shopping done! I could keep buying and I may but for the most part I'm done!
here's two words for the next person;
Bah Humbug or Merry Christmas?
Well I really want to say Bah Humbug for all the work and shopping and decorations and cooking...but I just love LOOKING at all the decorations and writing about and decorating my blog for Christmas...weird, huh?
Sandee, congrats "port captain" I'm impressed!
Open presents Christmas morning or Christmas Eve?
presents? you are buying me presents? oboy!
christmas eve!
smiles, bee
ham or turkey?
Ham, because I'm too "turkey'd-out" from Thanksgiving. :)
Ranch Dressing or ketchup with french fries?
I'm a mayo fan for Fries, but I can also say Ranch, the ketchup or both! Just depends on my mood.
Since we're all in the "holiday" state of mind...do you open gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day -- two different families. Hah!
Black & White or color photos?
With digital you can have both.
For drama and mood, I love black and white. For color and spectacle I'll take color. For Christmas, it has to be color!!!
Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas?
Merry Christmas..Im tired to being careful who I saw that too...
This is too fun..
White lights or colored lights?
I used colored lights in my house and on the tree but I use white lights on the outside. So I guess both.
A Christmas Story or Scrooged?
congratulations Sandee--what an honor , a new port captain!!
A Christmas Story--love the classics!
white lights or multi-colored for the tree?
No lights, no tree, no kids..smile
cranberry jelly or berries..
I like cranberry sauce from the can. It just tastes better!

Christmas records or CDs?
OK, I'm going to throw a monkey wrench into this whole process. I'm Jewish to I celebrate Christmas, but I do love this time of the year. So, for the previous questions of records or CD's I'm going to answer MP3s. Hey I do have to be different, but not that different........
Home for the holidays or out of town?
Correction, I'm Jewish so I do not celebrate Christmas (all the rest stays.)
Home, but all my family is local so it's a no-brainer.
Pumpkin or Lemon Meringue Pie?
Ian
home for the holidays. Im afraid the holidays wont be as fun if I am out of my element but I love watching movies about people going out of town..Im just odd
eggnog or hot chocolate?
Eggnog (but the kind from a carton not the spiked kind!) :D
Tinsel: Yes or No?
First - congrats on your Port Captaincy! I'm thinking that has something to do with sailing, and that you are not now the Chief Wine Steward. LOL!
No on the tinsel. Too stringly and messy and tough to clean up after the season.
Walnuts or raisins in the pumpkin bread?
Yes. I like my bread fully loaded.
"It's a Worderful Life" or "Miracle on 34th Street" (the original version)?
"Everytime a bell rings an angel gets its wings"
"It's a Wonderful Life" is a must.
buying presents with cash or plastic?
Melting plastic into presents :)
I won't be buying to many this year but as I am in Canada and the fam are in the UK it will be mostly plastic.
Who would win a dancing contest, Santa or the Elfs?
Since the "fat police" have declared Santa persona non grata this year, I guess the elves! A skinny Santa just can't dance the same as a portly one!!!
Fudge or divinity?
Congrats Sandee! I hope there's a party to go with the swearing in!
I have to say fudge, cos I don't know what divinity is when it's at home and not in church...
White Christmas or palm trees & sunshine?
Being from Wisconsin I'll have to say, White Christmas. Although I wouldn't rule out Palm Trees. :)
Star or Angel on top of the tree?
Star.
Jesus is the reason for the season. The angels announced his birth to the shepherds but the star guided them to him.
Oh Holy Night or Hallelujah Chorus?
Congrats Mon Port Captain!
Oh Holy Night - most definitely! It is such a beautiful song and reflects the quiet contemplation of what Christ's birth means to me. If only I had the voice to sing it well...
In keeping with the Christmas theme...Which is more fun to buy -- gifts for the stockings or under the tree?
Congrats on being new port Captain, Sandee, and have fun on the boat.
Oh this is a hard one, well let me see, I guess it's more fun to think about what to put in the stockings.
And I'll keep with the Christmas theme as well.
What do you place at the top of your tree? A star or an angel?
I have each - I usually make my husband pick which one we are going to use each year.
blinking or non-blinking Christmas lights?
Congrats Sandee! Non Blinkers for me. Gee this is fun! In your yard...Santa or Nativity
Santa instead of Nativity only because it is harder to set up an appropriate nativity outside.
Fine dry snow or wet heavy snow?
Any snow! I grew up in California where we didn't get a sniff of snow.
In fact, it's snowing right now!
Character ornaments on the tree, or ball ornaments?
Christmas shopping barely done. I've only got like 20 really important people to shop for... then it's... hundreds of 'others' if you know what I mean. -sigh-
ooooh I like both ornaments, as long as they have a special memory behind them
Uhm
The animated Grinch or the Jim Carry Grinch?
Good one!
Not a Jim Carey fan nor a fan of the current craze of remakes... so I say animated Grinch all the way!
I'm craving chocolate...so is it bourbon balls or buckeyes?
I don't care for bourbon so I don't think I'd like them at all, not even in a ball! Dr. Seuss better not try to steal that one!
Um, I'll go with the buckeys. It's got to be better than black eyes, eh?
Lets see...
Fruit cake (yuck) or dried fruit around the Christmas tree?
smiles

I'm weird. I actually like fruitcake.
So, for New Year's Eve...staying home or going out?
Uh....Going out. Definitely going out.
Do you keep your New Year's resolutions?
What News Year's resolutions?
And since Chanukah is right around the corner, dreidel or menorah? I'm not sure I spelled dreidel right...
