Becca of BeccA's Buzz has created a meme called Give Me Five Monday. Here's her vision:The 'Give Me Five' Monday meme is designed to share fun information with each other in a simple short list! Here's how it works. Each week, I will put out a random topic from my list of topics and you share 5 answers of your choice on the given topic and link back here! You can add photos, links or stories or just a simple list of your own of 5 things that relate to the topic as it pertains to you and your life experiences. It doesn't have to be in any order of importance unless otherwise specified.
Here is our mission this week: Give Me Five pet peeves or dislikes associated with shopping.
1. Okay, I admit it, I just hate to shop. If I have to I know what I'm going to purchase, I go in and purchase it and then leave. I hate to shop.
2. Rude people. Ever notice if there is a sale somewhere that all the rude people show up? You can even read about these rude folks in the newspaper at times. Fights and yelling matches. I just won't go.
3. How commercial the holidays are. It starts before Halloween anymore, instead of after Thanksgiving like it used to be. There is such demand to do this and that or you are a Scrooge. I'll do Christmas my way thank you very much.
4. Greed. The retailers are all wanting your last dollar. This is the time the companies have the opportunity to go from red to black. Most are just plain greedy about it too.
5. Lack of service is another pet peeve. What happened to service anyway. Most of the time you can't find a soul to help you.

Love the pictures you found! It's funny, when you want help (like at a Home Depot or somewhere like that) you can't find anyone around, but when you want to be left alone the sales people want to ask you a hundred questions! I do love on-line shopping. ;)
Fights and yelling matches...I remember hearing stories of people getting trampled and broken arms back in the 80's! That's crazy!
I couldn't agree more with your #3.
The retailers don't want your last dollar, they want to max out your credit card so you can pay on all your purchases from Christmases back in the 90's until 2015!! They do NOT care about our debt, just theirs. We should show them, we should make all our gifts and leave the retailers there to rot! They make 300 or 400% markup anyway! Don't even get me started on retail sales...

I only do holidays 'cause Poor Hubby makes me. If we had more family & more time, I'd be all over it, because that's what holidays really are about (if you're un-religious like I am): family.

I am with you on ALL of these - especially the last one. In my experience, when I need help, I can NOT find anyone willing to help me anywhere... but when I'm just browsing, salespeople drive me nuts and swarm me like vultures.
oh how i hate to shop too. i usually buy what i can online now.

Excellent list! I agree especially this year with the greed factor. It's so obvious this year. The Black Friday sales weren't even all that great and some stores opened up at 4 a.m.! I am betting that next year, they'll all be open by midnight!

1. Traffic on the drive to the store.
2. Not being able to find anything that I want in the right size.
3. Garments on the wrong racks.
4. Surly sales people who don't look you in the eye.
5. Traffic during the drive home.

Agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed. I totally agree with you on all five points. I guess this is why I do my non-grocery shopping online. I used to do my grocery shopping online, but I no longer shop at Safeway, and Trader Joe's doesn't have online shopping!
